Beauty surrounds the Lodge at the Falls. From morning lap swim to evening drinks, you need only look up to appreciate the majesty that is Yosemite. The restaurant, bar and food court buildings all feature floor to ceiling glass walls, which brings the beauty of nature, indoors. Our lodge room was spacious, with an impressive, tiled shower. The room was very clean, except for the heavy traffic area on the carpet, just inside the door. Quite a comfortable stay. We had the most scenic lap swim of our lives, looking up to the granite peaks, with each breath. The pool has limited hours, though. It would have been nice to take a dip after a long day of hiking, but the pool closes early (5 or 6:00 PM.) Overall, we had a fabulous experience. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Free wifi, but you'll have a hard time logging on. Don't plan on getting much time for social media, but, hey! This is Yosemite! Get outside!

We arrived at Yosemite lodge and our party were given our rooms. It was about five minutes before we were back at reception making a complaint. They were AWFUL, dark, smelly, dated and dirty looking. I had read before I travelled about there being upgraded blocks as you can probably see from some of the photos on here there is a HUUUGE difference between the new and old blocks and they cost the same. MAKE SURE TO ASK FOR A NEW BLOCK. Our original rooms had grey towels, not enough lighting and smelt like takeaway food (not what you want when surrounded by bears) The new rooms in the new block were a breath of fresh air in comparison, light, spacious and completely different, we could have been in a different hotel. The grounds themselves were good, the food in the food court left a lot to be desired but its edible. I would return but only to stay in a new room.

Room Tip: Get a new room - only accept a new room!!

My wife and I were unimpressed on a stay here last year, but heard there had been serious renovations since then, and it IS in Yosemite, one of the most beautiful places on Earth. So we tried again, this time with the grandkids (aged 9 and 6.) Glad we did.

Our room was in the Dogwood building. Not luxurious, but clean and nicely furnished. It was a bit cramped since you can't leave anything in your car because of bears, but we managed nicely. The room had cross ventilation, important since there is no AC, which kept the room bearable, unlike our experience last year. The Lodge has a large swimming pool, which the kids loved, or you can walk a short ways to the Merced River. Because of the kids, we ate our meals in the Food Court, which is a cafeteria. The food was not gourmet, but fit the bill. You can get sandwiches and such to take on hikes. The lobby can hook you up with tours and the Valley Shuttle stops right in front. Yosemite Village is less than a mile away; Yosemite Falls is right across the road, although it's dry this time of year.

I was most impressed with the Lodge staff - everyone, from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the food court staff, to the gift shop people were friendly, especially to the kids. A young man named Will gave a talk one evening and led a pack of kids around the grounds to examine the different kinds of trees. The kids loved it.

The Lodge isn't cheap, but on this trip I felt it was money well spent

Room Tip: The Dogwood-style buildings minimize noise from neighboring rooms

This lodge is very convenient, it's really close to the falls. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We were on the ground so have the opportunity to have breakfast with animals ! The view is fantastic. There is a swimming pool, 3 places to eat and a shop ( please not that the free buses are really close as well). Very Nice !
