The Ahwahnee is an example of great architecture in a spectacular setting. Staff is helpful and congenial. The dining room is beautiful.
The only serious blemish is the noise insulation in the rooms, which is worse than a Motel 6. It has been this way for a long time and it probably would not be inexpensive to solve the problem, but the Ahwahnee charges premium prices and needs to re-invest some of those profits to make the experience worthy of the grandeur of the architecture.
