We stopped here for tea in the afternoon following a trip to Mariposa Grove. The clubhouse is really pretty and prices were reasonable.

OK, so you don't come to Yosemite to golf. But if you have the urge, this is the only game in town. A historic 9 hole course set up before the park became a park and kept because it was historic, this course is nice looking but lacks the basics of even a decent muni. The greens are really squishy and are kept long...kind of like putting on fringe. The greens are also very small. Playing for the first time, you have trouble knowing where to hit the ball. For those with high handicaps, bring a few extra balls as it plays tight and the balls off the fairway will get lost. The scenery is nice and some of the holes have a nice look. But the course has not been updated since it was built (or so it seems). This all being said, take what I have said and go have fun playing it as it is special. It will take you 50 minutes to get there from the Yosemite Valley so I recommend golfing early in the morning (8am opening) to avoid traffic.

We really enjoy our golf and thought we'd give the course a try whilst visiting Yosemite. We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and played 18 holes which we found very challenging (meaning we lost a lot of balls). The weather was quite hot but there was plenty of shade and a few water points around the course. The staff were friendly and helpful and we were able to rent clubs at a reasonable rate. It's not an Open Championship course but it's tough enough and the scenery is absolutely stunning.

We played here in June 2006 and had a great time. You don't play this course for the challenge but for the beauty that surrounds you. Even though it is a short course, I couldn't believe how many balls I lost!! One of the reasons we stayed at the Wawona was so we could play here. I wouldn't leave the valley floor to play a round but since we were right there it was a very nice way to spend the morning. It wasn't busy when we were there so you can really take your time and enjoy your surroundings.
