This one bedroom house is set amongst pine trees next to mixed forest. A bird watchers delight.

Steve and Marty have set this up thoughtfully with a well-equipped kitchen and good choice of bedding. Plenty of outdoor seating and a hammock plus bocce make this a good holiday venue.

We used this as a base for Yosemite. The drive to the gates takes an hour and a quarter. Fine for Australians but something you need to think about.

The local store and gas station are a big plus - friendly, well-stocked and reasonably-priced

“Beautiful cabin in the woods”
Reviewed 14 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We had a great stay at Quail Crossing. Its a very homey, inviting place to stay. The cabin was very clean and well equipped and there is a grocery just two miles down the road. They even have an outdoor shower for the adventurous people. If you want peace & quite outside of Yosemite Valley this is a great choice; the valley is full of people. Also a bit of advice locate this one in daylight. My Garmin was a big help, your phone will be of no use at all out here.

“Great place!”
Reviewed 1 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

I spent the 4th of July weekend in the Cabin at Quail crossing with my family. We have a toddler and went to Yosemite with my family coming from Peru. This place has all accommodations you need and is much better than staying at a hotel or resort.
After really long days in the valley, it is so nice to arrive to the cabin and turn on the grill and relax. My son was happy having a good time connecting with nature and we could see a deer family coming to say hi.
Steven and Marty are such great hosts and will provide you any help and information you need.

“The Perfect Get-Away Retreat!”
Reviewed 24 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

The Cabin at Quail Crossing is the perfect place to escape the crowds and traffic and find yourself sitting out on the porch, listening to the wind in the trees. Steve and Marty were exceptional hosts. They welcomed us upon arrival and showed us all around the cabin and bunk house. I didn't have to post any pictures in this review because the owner's pictures are exactly what we experienced. The Cabin and Bunkhouse were immaculate, thoughtfully decorated, and fully equipped (my family loves to grill and cook and we had everything we needed). Steve and Marty were very helpful in providing suggestions for around the area (which my father was especially appreciative). We stayed here on the last leg of our vacation, and couldn't have picked a better place. Thank you, Steve and Marty, for being such wonderful hosts and welcoming us during our stay at The Cabin at Quail Crossing.

“Wonderful Cabin”
Reviewed 5 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Steve and Marty were absolutely wonderful hosts, and Lily and Wags couldn't have been more friendly! My 3-year-old loved coming back to "our" house at the end of our adventures in Yosemite. The cabin is well-appointed, the outdoor shower is a dream, and making S'mores over the fire was so much fun!

“An absolute gem!”

It's always tricky to research and pick a property when you don't know the area. When I was searching, the Cabin at Quail Crossing looked fantastic from my first look, and then the friendly and quick response from Steve made our decision easy. The cabin was just what we wanted and then some! Honestly, it had everything you wanted and then more that you didn't know you even wanted. It was perfect. We had two teenagers who stayed in the bunkhouse (with their own toilet and outside shower) while my husband and I stayed in the main cabin. We arrived to a cold bottle of wine and some freshly made cookies and Steve and Marty inviting us in for a drink on a very hot day. Steve and Marty were welcoming, friendly hosts without being intrusive .. just right. Their cabin is a very special place. We completely relaxed amongst the deer and woodpeckers and enjoyed the serenity and the hour long drive to Yosemite Valley. We are so glad we stayed in the gorgeous part of the world the cabin is in and not the chaos and sterile lodgings right in Yosemite Valley. The township down the road was a great place to spend an afternoon with a great cafe and an awesome museum amongst the rich gold rush history. It was truly a breath of fresh air. We feel so lucky that we got to experience this very special part of the world. Thank you Steve and Marty for opening your home to allow us to experience this. We absolutely loved it and hope that we can make it back again one day. 5+ stars from us.

“Cozy, comfortable, and charming cabin in a great location.”
Reviewed 11 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Quail Crossing is a wonderful cabin in a great location. My teenage daughters appreciated the separate bunkhouse, but not the outdoor shower. My husband, however, loved it! The cabin was clean and tidy, with all of the items you would need for your stay. Deer crossed the back yard every morning and quails actually crossed the road to the cabin often. The setting is very tranquil, from the back porch to the side patio area, to the fire pit area. Lots of space to enjoy the outdoors in a beautiful, peaceful location. Steve and Marty were very friendly and attentive.
There is a grocery store a few miles away and wifi is available, but limited as you will find in most mountain locations.
