Despite reading so many positive reviews my high expectations were exceeded throughout this trip. You can't really judge the welcome you receive at each of the camps and how welcome a small, shared canvas tent will be until you have hiked several miles to get there. Hearty food, interesting company and hot showers at most of the locations also add to the enjoyment. But the star attraction, of course, is the scenery of Yosemite seen far from the roads, cars and buses. The hikes are hard but not to be feared. The most important things to remember: pack as light as you can and take care of your feet.
