On a recent trip to Zion and Bryce National Parks, we stayed at this lodge and thought it most comfortable and in a lovely setting with some very nice views of the mountains. There were fully furnished units with a kitchen and eaing area and good quality furnishings. The bed was excellent with very nice linens. It has the aditional benefit of being next to the Zion I-Max theater which they give you tickets to see at no charge. The lodge is very close to the entrance of Zion National Park and is a very good vvalue.

Room Tip: We had a room on the second floor which was light and had nice views of the mountains.

We came during the low-season (mid-week, late October), and booked a King Studio room. As other people mention, it appears that the rooms throughout the hotel are really quite variable (even among the same room type). Half of the hotel has beautiful, sweeping views of the Zion mountains, the other side has a large dirt/rock heap that obstructed any view. I would highly recommend somehow confirming a second-level room (or a mountain view room), if you hope to spend any time in the room taking in the view.

As other people mention, there is a market that sells most of the essential grocery and outdoorsy gear one would need before a day of hiking (despite it's high prices). I would recommend getting lunches from Cafe Soleil next door to the hotel, which offers much fresher, higher quality sandwiches, at the same price, which they can wrap up to pack in your bag for a day of hiking.

Regardless, the inside of the room was clean, comfortable, and well decorated. The location is great too, a 3 minute walk to the South Entrance of Zion.

Next time we go, we'll probably stay somewhere else in the town of Springdale, as I found their prices to be too high for what we received. Several other hotels are within walking distance of the south entrance, or we might even try staying in the park lodge.

We stayed in the judy ann suite and it was just as pictured/described. It was very well maintained with a nice bed, lots of storage, a great oversized tub and a nice gas fireplace. The staff was very efficient and courteous. Overall we would stay there again as it is a very good value for the price. The minor complaints we had were;
1. Intermittent internet, even though there was at least 3 diff connections available, they all connected/disconnected intermittently, even though all 3 showed 3 bars or higher. Might be limited what they can get for internet service, so it may be a general issue in the area.
2. Kitchen could have been slightly better stocked, no scissors, limited knives and no cleaning supplies, other than for the dishwasher. The pans, etc where clean and well maintained though.
3. Privacy, the resort is laid out in a courtyard fashion with the balconies towards the courtyard. Not a big deal as long as you are not expecting cozy private balconies with mountain views all over.
4. Being the top suite it could have used HD TVs, a blu-ray player and a convection oven. You can get DVD player and oven from front desk, but for the top suite it would have been a nice touch to have them in-room. The TVs are flat-screens, but 720p, instead of 1080p, would have been nice to view the photos/videos from the day a little clearer.

Had a wonderful stay at Cable Mountain Lodge with a group of 4 for a weekend hiking trip. Our 2 night stay was comfy, roomy, and just a short walk to the entry point of Zion National Park. The classic suite with Murphy bed was great to sleep four, we didn't even need to use the pull out sofa bed. Awesome views from the balcony in #124, which was an upstairs suite. The river is right across the parking lot. We dined out in Springdale one evening. You can take a shuttle along the main road, but we preferred walking which gives you an opportunity to check out some of the local craft stores along the way. We also made a couple of meals in our room. The kitchen is fully equipped with a cook top and micro wave. There's a mini grocery store nearby or the larger "Sol Foods" is a short drive or shuttle ride up the road in Springdale.

The pool and jacuzzi were nice and clean, checked it out but didn't get a chance to use it. Check-in/out was quick and easy. Zion brew pub next door was great for a late lunch after a long hike. Fish n chips and a nice cold pitcher of Hefeweizen....yum! They were also having a small "rock-tober fest" with live music and bounce houses for kids. Not a huge turnout, but it was something else to do and you could hear the music from the Patio at the pub.

All in all a wonderful stay. I'm pretty sure I'll return to CML on my next trip to Zion.

Room Tip: Unit #124 upper suite w/murphy bed, close to parking yet quiet with nice views!
