“Absolutely Perfect Getaway”

We spent two nights at the Bellagio in Las Vegas before driving up to Springdale and Zion National Park, so anything after the Bellagio would be a hard act to follow. But based on TripAdvisor reviews, we booked Cable Mtn Lodge before we left Las Vegas. When we arrived, they had put us on the road side, so we requested a riverside room. (Definitely ask for a riverside room.) It was right above the office, but very quiet in spite of it's location. The studio suite was huge and well-appointed. There's a fully equipped kitchen/kitchenette which was great when we wanted to eat in. The living room is sparsely furnished, but very comfortable with a flat screen tv. The living room/kitchen/bath have attractive laminate flooring that was perfect since we often returned with muddy hiking boots.

Bedroom had very comfortable king size bed and rich, warm colors. Big windows with wood blinds offered views when open and privacy when closed. Nice balcony looks out over parking lot, river and cable mountain. Flat screen tv is behind bedroom door and door has to be closed to watch tv. Very generous with towels and bath amenities. Also free wi-fi with good connection.

You can walk from the hotel to the visitor's center in less than 5 minutes. There is a small grocery store next door and a great Thai restaurant on the opposite side of the hotel property. In Springdale, we highly recommend The Bit and Spur restaurant -- really excellent food and service. Nothing run-of-the-mill. Creative, delicious southwestern dishes and a great staff. For breakfast or lunch, Oscars is your best bet. Dinner menu is limited but also good. Have fun. Zion is breathtaking.

This is a beautiful hotel and had just the right ambiance for a long romantic weekend. The location is great, very close to a local store and restaurants. The sceanery is absolutly spectacular, especially early in the moring when the sun is coming up over the mountains. However, our room was on the ground floor and it was very noisy. We could hear the people above us walking around, alot. If you are a light sleeper, you should book a room on the 2nd floor. Otherwise, it is a great place to stay!

Had a wonderful stay at the CML in Springdale. The hotel is a two minute walk to the bus stop to Zion NP. Our room was hotel style with one bed on the first floor. Just outside was the flowing river and a view of the pool. There is a onsite resturant and grocery store. The staff was very friendly. I would sure stay here again. The view of the cliffs are a site to see.

We spent Thanksgiving weekend at this hotel. Considering the price, we are extremely satisfied. As many reviewer pointed, looms are spacious, furnitures and bathroom are clean, kithcen is fully equiped, sofa bed is well prepared.
We have been impressed by two things especially. First one is location. Although it does not have a restaurant, great grocery store and adjunct restaurant are sharing almost same parking space with this hotel. Also, you can easily walk to the visitor center of Zion Naional Park. Second is staffs. They are extremely helpfull. They offered us an extra blanket for the sofa bed when we checked in, so we did not have to come back again. They have arranged a check out procedure a day before check out day, so that we could leave early in the morning.
Now, there are three things we have to comment. First thing is a view. It is true that there are rooms from which you can see Zion mountain, but not all of them can. Our room was facing only a dirt slope. If you need a view, you should ask the room facing the parking lot, 2nd floor. Second thing is noise. Thanks to the advice on this site, we could stay at 2nd floor room. But you can even hear the noise from downstairs. Third thing is AC. Other reviewer said the room was too cold. That is because you can not chose between heating and cooling. AC simply try to keep the temperature, so even in the winter, it cools the room when it gets a little warm. It may be uncomfortable for some people.
Most of the good feeling of this hotel is depend on the cleaness of the room and its equipments. I hope it to last as the hotel getting old...

I was really scared. At $80 per night, I didn't really think this place would be very nice especially in a small town in Utah. The pictures looked good, but who knows when they were taken and the reviews of the place was all very positive, yet I was skeptical. That was until I arrived here and saw the view! Nestled just right outside the majestic Zion National Park, I had the best view of the sunset over the Zion right from my room! The room is incredibly nice, too! All the furniture are brand new, the room is spotless clean, water pressure is high, tool! Nice granite touches in the bathroom counter and shower... everything is soooo nice! There's even a laundry room for the guests to use! This place is better than a lot of the five star resorts I've stayed!!! Best find of the century!!!

We were arriving into Springdale late evening after spending the day in Vegas, so we did not really see the surroundings as it was very dark already. The lodge is located at the very end of Springdale only a short walk from the park entrance. The only problem was that the way to it was fairly bad marked. So if you drive in the dark, watch for the theatre and you should find it well.

Check in was good and we were assigned a room at the ground floor. There is not much lighting outside so we had our difficulties to find the room too but at the end we managed. The room itself was great and very very nice and me and my wife were really happy about it. In the morning I got up early to make some pictures outside and it was simply breahttaking. You were surrounded by the red rock of the canyon walls which were glowing in the morning sun. On the parking lot there was a deer passing by to the river which flows just besides the parking lot. Amazing. For some 100 $ it was great value.

There were two things which we did not like. First, the heating did not work and as the temperetures in november go as low as 32F and the temperatures in the room were also getting lower, especially my wife did not like it. Secondly, the shower had quite some pressure on it and the shower head was such which converted the water into small needles. I mean it was really painfull. Not sure if they want to save as much water as posible and want the customers to take as short showers as possible. I told this to the reception the next morning, but I dont think they can do anything about this unless they exchange the shower heads.

We were very glad to have chosen Cable Mountain Lodge for 5 nights in October whilst we visited Zion National Park and Springdale. It was fairly easy to find but the sign for the hotel was at the bottom of a sign listing a few things, so wasn't obvious.

We were kindly given an upgrade to one of the upstairs suites with a separate bedroom (with a massive and very comfortable bed, large chest of drawers, small wardrobe, bedside chests of drawers with lamps, flatscreen TV) which opened onto a balcony with two airondack chairs, a bathroom with an over-bath shower (very powerful shower) toilet, and large mirror and vanity area. Good quality towels and beautiful smelling toiletries in the room. There was a hallway wardrobe. I don't think there was a safe in the room.

As we entered the room it opened onto a large carpeted lounge area and floorboards through the kitchen/dining area. There was a very comfortable large sofa and coffee table with another flatscreen TV. We utilised the kitchen well as we are vegetarians and there is not much choice for veges in Springdale (sink, dishwasher, fridge with small freezer section, plenty of cupboards, cutlery, utensils, crockery, pots and a pan, large microwave. The best supermarket/restaurant in town (Sol Foods) is right next to the hotel within the same complex. It was great returning in the evening and cooking our own dinner which we could enjoy at the 4-seater dining table whilst we looked at the lovely views out of the windows. There were another couple of cupboards/desks in this area.

I compliment the hotel owner on the choice of furnishings. It is very stylish with wooden blinds on the windows, great lighting and comfortable, functional furniture. Everything is kept very clean and tidy.

You cannot park directly outside your room but perhaps this cuts down on the noise around the rooms. We used the hot tub but too cold for pool.

Receptionists were very friendly and helpful. Cleaners did a great job and are also very friendly.

If we visit Springdale again, this will be our first choice. We have stayed at Desert Pearl previously but preferred Cable Mountain Lodge.
