“Great Location, Price and Beds”
Reviewed 24 March 2014

This was a nice little hotel/motel less than 2 miles from the entrance to Zion National Park. The staff was exceptionally pleasant, the rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. The hotel is possibly a little on the older side, but everything has been kept up well, and is in great working order. It's actually a nice little walk to town, which is about half way to the Park Entrance, and along nice wide sidewalks.

We stayed in room 515 which is featured on the website with the fantastic views and they were fantastic. The room is on the end facing the canyon and the river with a nice balcony with comfortable Adirondack chairs and a little table to sit out and watch the sunset. Cabinetry is black walnut with granite tops and has a fridge, microwave, and Keurig Coffee maker. Shower is a nice size with good flow. Beds are comfortable and the room has nice little appointments like USB ports in the wall for charging. The owner has an eye for detail and keeps the place well maintained. Highly recommended.

Dear guest,

Thank you so much for staying with us, and for the wonderful comments. We are glad that you enjoyed your visit, we agree that the views from the Court of the Patriarchs rooms are awe-inspiring. The owners thank you for the compliment on the design and decor. They were involved in every phase of construction, and their European flair shows in the details.

We hope that you stay with us every time you visit southern Utah! Thank you once again for your wonderful review.

Driftwood is located a few miles just outside the south entrance to Zion National Park and has several food options and a supermarket all within a 1-mile vicinity. Not only does driftwood have a superbly convenient location, its views from the patios are remarkable and worth it. The rooms are well kept and extremely clean. The staff is knowledgeable about sites to see and things to do and definitely make you feel welcome. I would highly recommend this location given that it is competitively priced and comes with amenities that do not disappoint.

Almost all of the rooms have a patio view, which allows you to see a mountain/rock formation just from the window which reminds you instantly of how you are surrounded by phenomenal natural sights.

The lodge itself does not have a breakfast option but you can purchase $5 coupons from oscar's cafe, which is a huge bargain for food.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the patio, preferably on the second floors so the creaking noises in the mornin...

The Driftwood is the place to get away into nature. If you love the sounds of a river rapid, the smell of hay, sun coming up over the mountains, petting a horse nose, looking for the big dipper where you can see millions of stars--Driftwood Lodge in Springdale, Utah, is the place. With large windows to view the beauty, comfortable beds, friendly management and conveniently located within a comfortable walk to great food, fun bars and unique shopping. Located just outside the entrance to Zion National Park, you can spend an afternoon hiking in uniquely beautiful mountains, or ride the tram through the park, and get a narrated tour. The tram stops in front of the Driftwood, and it's free. Getting away just doesn't get better.

Room Tip: The newer rooms have picture windows on two sides for more nature. And because you are surrounded b...

I was pleased with the cleanliness, tasteful modern decor, & friendly service, but not as much as I was impressed by the view! We stayed in one of the Watchmen rooms on the second floor and wow. I know there were others in our building, but we could not hear them unless they were talking on their balcony. The buildings in the Court of the Patriarchs and the Watchmen all had excellent views of the mouth of Zion National Park. We were there in the off-season, so no breakfast or anything like that.

Room Tip: The rooms in the Court of the Patriarchs and the Watchmen all had excellent (unobstructed) views of...

Dear guest,

Thank you so much for staying at the Driftwood, and for taking time to review us. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your room, and the decor. The rooms in the Watchman building were recently updated, and the new colors are very soothing. This is one of my favorite buildings, because of the incredible views.

You will have to come back during the season, so that you can sample our breakfast. There is a good selection of items to choose from, and we do our best to make sure that there is something for everyone.

We hope that you will stay with us every time you visit southern Utah.

Thank you,

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. I stayed in a beautifully decorated king suite. In additional to being a comfortable and clean room, it offered gorgeous views and an outdoor seating area perfect for starting and ending the day. I would definitely return to Driftwood Lodge and recommend to others. Pricing is reasonable. It's a great location not only to visit Zion National Park, but to have as a "base camp" to day trip to other nearby parks, like Bryce Canyon.

Room Tip: The king suites offer an excellent view and outdoor seating.

Dear guest,

Thank you so much for staying with us! It was a pleasure meeting and speaking with you. One of the perks for us is getting to know the guests. It is great to learn about the other places they have visited, and what they do when they are not on vacation. The stories we hear are always interesting, and we are glad to be a part of them.

Springdale is a great place to stay when visiting Bryce Canyon, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, and even the north rim of the Grand Canyon is only a few hours away. There are some amazing restaurants and galleries in town as well, so there is plenty to keep people occupied when they are not hiking in the park.

We thank you for staying with us, and hope that you will return often.

This wonderful property is located on the edge of the small town of Springdale less than two miles from the entrance to Zion National Park. It is a campus of five distinct buildings with guest rooms plus the main building with the front desk,etc.. Views of the monoliths of Zion ring the property. The setting is beautifully green with lots of grass and trees. We stayed in the Narrows Building which has the least expensive rooms. It also has a beautiful back lawn area behind it with lawn chairs, a beautiful stream and great views of the amazing rock formations of the Zion area. Our room was very spacious and immaculate with 2 queen sized beds, large flat screen TV, and a pretty good cable channel selection. The mattresses were of very good quality. We both slept very well during our entire 6-night stay. The ventilation system both heat and air conditioning were first-rate. The room also had a coffee maker, microwave, and fridge. As good as the accommodations were (for a very low price), the service was even better. Hans the owner was very helpful and forthcoming. He gave us lots of info about the area, and was always ready to answer our questions. Judith at the front desk, and Christy a front desk trainee were both very , very nice, and helpful, as was the manager (sorry, I didn't get her name). We stayed during the off season, which is generally when we like to visit national parks. Couldn't be more happy with our stay. A few further points. Driftwood Lodge provides breakfast coupons for one of Springdale's best restaurants - Oscar's, for 5 dollars in the off season (Driftwood provides its' own free breakfast in the regular season). The 5 dollar coupon for Oscar's is a steal! It is good for any beverage and breakfast on Oscar's extensive menu. Their breakfasts are huge, and delicious and would normally run about 15 dollars a person with beverage. We also tried Oscar's at night, and liked it very much. The service there is great as well. Another good eating place is MeMe's, wonderful crepes, wonderful food in general, and very friendly, good service. Finally, we ate at the Gourmet Grill one night, and had great chile rellanos and great chocolate, peanut butter, habanero(!) creme brulee.

Room Tip: room # 209 is at the end of the Narrows Building and offers a shorter walk to the back lawn/creek ar...
