“Perfect place to explore Zion!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 September 2011

We thought Cliffrose had a perfect location. It is literally a five-minute (or so) walk to the pedestrian and car entrances to Zion NP. We discovered that there is a nice walkway along the Virgin River that takes you directly to the pedestrian bridge to Zion. On the way, you pass Sol Foods Market, so it's very convenient to pick up supplies or snacks on the way to or from the park. The only hotel that's closer to Zion is Cable Mountain Lodge, which is right next door. (It also looks like a good place to stay.) There are also several places to eat within walking distance. Although the gardens at Cliffrose are pretty, I realized that their constant watering in a desert environment probably isn't the most environmentally responsible approach to landscaping. However, the gardens and the riverside location certainly make for a lovely setting with a great view of Zion's peaks. My other favorite thing about Cliffrose is that they have hummingbird feeders outside nearly every room, and there are lots of hummingbirds always buzzing around. We stayed in the Riverside Grandview Suite, which was nicely furnished and well appointed, although I think all hotels could benefit from having more hooks and towel bars in the bathrooms. It would also have been ideal to have a kitchenette, but we did at least have a freestanding refrigerator. (I think they do offer options with kitchenettes.) My only real complaint is that it is noisy. The poor construction of our ceiling and the floor of the room above made it sound like elephants were walking around upstairs. The hinges on adjoining room doors also creaked loudly, and it really is a motel, which means that the parking lot is right outside your door. The first night was so noisy we had difficulty sleeping, and I am a heavy sleeper. It got better on subsequent nights; maybe we got used to it or were too exhausted from hiking to care. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay and I would recommend Cliffrose.

Had a wonderful time here. I stayed for 2 nights in August and wished I had stayed longer.
I was really impressed as soon we arrived. The surroundings were beautiful.
Check in was quick, the girl on the desk was really polite and friendly. The bedrooms were delightful, clean and bright. The beds were so so comfy, we had the best night’s sleep there. We were on the first level and had a lovely view of the mountains. Seeing the Humminging Birds by the balcony, was lovely. Location is fantastic, the closest hotel you can stay in to be near the Zion National Park, Visitor Centre.
We ate breakfast both days at Café Soleil which is pretty much next door and served lovely fresh food; (there is a menu in your room). The hotel also provides complimentary coffee which was a nice touch
There are also a lot of restaurants for evening meal in walking distance, however if you don’t wish to walk, the shuttle bus passes every 10/15 minutes in the evening and runs till about 11pm.
The pool area was nice and quiet; we spent the afternoon by the pool and went in the Hot Tub/Jacuzzi too.
If you book Cliffrose Lodge & Gardens, you will not be disappointed!!!!
p.s If you are looking for a nice restaurant, try The Spotted Dog

Our family of 5 stayed 2 nights at Cliffrose. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer! Not only were the rooms and the staff very accommodating, but the grounds and surroundings are just beautiful, so well maintained and peaceful. The entrance to Zion National Park is within walking distance, and a perk we were not expecting was the lovely river's stream behind the hotel where the kids (big and little) could swim and raft. Do not hesitate to book here, you'll be so glad you did!

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. AAA made these arraignments and when we got there we wanted to upgrade (it was a little expensive but we deserved it). The most beautiful room with large bath and living area, patio with chairs, apple and pears trees, hummingbirds everywhere. The most spectacular view of the Zion cliffs. Would stay there anytime!

We recently completed an 11 day tour of 6 National parks in Utah and Arizona. Our hotel/ motel stays were varied from the Marriott to the Moab Valley Inn. The Cliffrose Lodge was the nicest of the 5 places we stayed Form the excellent facilities and helpful staff to the amazing views of Zion National Park from your room. The Rooms were spotless with upscale bedding and pillows,( not like the Marriott's junk). The lodge is located in perfect proximity to the park entrance, a short walk, and free local transportation into the quaint town of Springdale.

Don't expect the Ritz, but why should you - you are at Zion National Park to explore nature, not stay in your room. I agree with other reviewers that the bathrooms are a bit small, the air conditioning is close to one of the beds and there is no lobby, but if you've ever gone to other national parks where most of the accomodations are old and outdated, you'll be happy you found Cliffrose. For what this property lacks in amenities, it makes up for in charm. The rooms were clean and extremely comfortable. The staff was very accomodating and the grounds like an English country garden. The pool was well maintained and relaxing and there is a path in the back that leads to the river and a small sandy beach area. This property is as close as you can get to the park and just a short walk to restaurants. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

The favorite part of this room was the views and the hummingbirds. I have never seen so many hummingbirds in my life! The pool and hot tub was great. The only thing that bother me was the air it was a bit loud. It didn't bother my husband or daughter. The rooms were clean and staff was pleasant.
