“Soothing vacation spot”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2012

This was our second visit to the Cliffrose. The staff could not be friendlier, the location next to Zion was perfect and the accommodations first rate! Once you park the car there is no need for it the rest of your stay. We walked to the park & took the free convenient bus to town in the evening. The gardens are beautiful. It was so soothing to sit and have our morning coffee while looking at the flowers and the mountains as the background! We look forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: The pool is great but rooms further away are quieter.

Stayed there 2 nights in early June. All of the positive reviews here lead us there and we are grateful. We happened to meet the Owner of the place when he needed to enter a gate without a key. The pool, gardens are immaculately maintained and set this property apart. Room (2 queens) was a bit small but nothing to diminish the rating. Staff was excellent service oriented. Will definitely stay again if ever in Zion area.

Room Tip: Get a room facing pool area if possible.

We stayed here in May 2012 and would thoroughly recommend this hotel. It is even better than the Internet site indicates - good rooms and views, lovely gardens and pool and just a short stroll to the park entrance. A free shuttle can take you to nearby restaurants but we easily walked to them and the local shops. Just lovely and would definitely choose this hotel again.

The hotel was very close to the visitor's center. Once we arrived in Zion, we parked our car and walked everywhere. The little restaurant right next door to the hotel was wonderful too. I can't thank the manager enough for directing us to take the backroads to Arches. The drive was breathtakingly beautiful. On the hotel grounds, the flowers, hummingbirds, and pool were lovely.

Can't go wrong here! Beautiful rooms, scenic location, amenities galore, and a great staff. Transportation to town or to the park is a short walk away. Great pool, beautiful gardens, loads of hummingbirds, places to picnic, kids play area, and more. HIGHLY recommend this lodge.

We booked a "canyon view" king size bed room. Our room had a distant view of the canyon but a better view of the parking lot. We paid a premium for a canyon view of the parking lot, and the hotel would not move us to a different room. The gardens were spectacular and the pool was very nice. The location in proximity to the visitor center and park were excellent. There was no food service but the restaurant next door was terrific. The room was mediocre but clean.

, General Manager at Cliffrose Lodge & Gardens, responded to this review, 26 June 2012
I'm terribly sorry that this guest was not happy with the view from their room. Each of our rooms has a view of Zion National Park. The guest also noted the view of the canyon was distant. Please visit our website or scroll through some of the guest photos on tripadvisor to see how close the canyon walls are. The canyon walls are within a half mile of the property as we border the park on our eastern side. The Canyon View room that this guest is referring to does have a parking lot within view. Only four of our rooms are affected by this. The parking lot fortunately sits below the building, so that when you are sitting on your patio or balcony nothing is blocking your view of the canyon. As you may have read in some of my other responses our goal is not to usher guests in and out of here as fast as possible. Our goal is to make sure you have a wonderful stay here at the Cliffrose. We pride ourselves on having a wonderful team who share a common goal to make sure every guest leaves here with great memories of their stay with us. Let me also make one thing very clear to anyone who reads this. We will absolutely move you to a different room if you are not satisfied with the one that you are checked in to, as long as there are rooms available to do so. It is extremely rare that this occurs as most of our guests are extremely happy with our rooms and the view. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Breck Dockstader

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2012

I recently stayed at the Cliffrose Lodge and Gardens during my week long trip exploring Zion National Park. I couldn't have made a better selection. I had originally booked a standard king room but arrived to find out I had been upgraded to a king riverview suite. The room was quite, clean, comfortable and had a spectacular view of the back lawn leading to the Virgin river and the red rocks beyond. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and serene. The pool and spa were clean and tranquil and a welcome refreshment at the end of a long day of hiking.

The location of the property itself is ideal. Just a few steps along the riverside path at the rear of the property and you are entering ZIon. No crowds, no traffic, no need for shuttles, just a 5 minute walk.

My only gripe was with my neighbor who apparantly didn't read the sign that the building was a non smoking building so that in the mornings as I tried to enjoy my coffee on the breezy patio I was forced to breath not fresh air but cigarette smoke and listen to a smoker's morning hack. Thankfully, he did not stay as long as I did and after a day or two I got my fresh morning air back.

I cannot wait to return next year and I wouldn't eaven think aobut staying anywhere else.
