“PERFECT Location for Zion!”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

We stayed here for several nights over Spring Break (April 2014). Check-in was easy, rooms were absolutely incredible - plenty of room, kitchen, frig, etc. We selected a room on the "stream" and I would recommend the same vs. a room on the pool. Less than 5 minutes to Zion park entrance, activities and walkable to restaurants.

A lovely hotel in an outstanding setting overlooking a babbling brook with the stunning mountains of Zion national park as a backdrop. Nicely appointed room with uniquely reclaimed timber utilized as flooring and decking. Staff professional and accommodating. Would
Come back any time.

My wife and I picked Desert Pearl Inn after a quick read of TripAdvisor reviews and stayed for three nights. This is one fantastic hotel that exceeded our expectations! We requested a river view and were rewarded with a room on the 2nd floor with a balcony that looked out to the Virgin River (30 yards or less away) and a part of Zion National Park. The room was well appointed and large by hotel standards with a very comfortable bed, large bathroom with a separate shower/commode area, and an unexpected well equipped kitchen with table and chairs. After eating out the first night, we decided to take advantage of the wonderful peaceful sights and sounds, picked up take out, and had very relaxing dinners on the porch the other two nights. The staff is very friendly and helpful and housekeeping does a great job. Little need for using the car since Zion's entrance is within walking distance or a quick free shuttle ride that picks up right outside Desert Pearl. Restaurants and shopping are all within short walks. Our only complaints are that there was no recycling bin in the room for the many empty plastic water bottles and the washers were a bit unpredictable although reasonably priced. We've already recommended the hotel to friends. Bottom line, we can't say enough good things about the hotel.

Room Tip: River view rooms, especially 2nd floor, a must and well worth the small premium.

It's immediately clear why this rates as the best place in town. The decor is tasteful, modern (with a Western flavor), and comfortable. The location is fabulous, with rooms that open up to either a terrace or right onto a grassy decent to the river. It looks like a motel that was remodeled by someone who spared no expense or planning in making it the best it could possibly be in this fairly remote location of Springdale. It is just a few minutes from Zion National Park. There isn't a restaurant on site, but it does offer a large pool. The simple elegance of the rooms, and the view on the riverbed make this place really inviting.

They pay attention to detail, and appear to be very ecologically aware. The air conditioning units are quieter (and newer) than most, and are installed outside, separate from the room itself. That means your stay in quieter.

A selection of organic teas can be found in the room. Nice dishes were found in the cupboards, an up-to-date flat-screen TV with a surprising number of channels (not that you'll want to watch while you're here), good sized fridge, and a small, easy to use safe. In short, we liked this place so much we extended our stay within minutes of arrival, and cancelled a night in Vegas - even though we were warned that it was supposed to rain the second day. (It did)
Note that if you plan on hiking trails in the Park, you'll need to take a free shuttle that stops just a few feet from the front of the Desert Pearl.
The staff is extremely friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. This place doesn't just feel relaxing, it feels smart. Extremely pleased. Book in advance. It fills up quickly, with good reason. One last thing: I hesitate to use the term "motel", but that is what it is, technically, as you shouldn't expect room service, an on-site restaurant or some of the other amenities of an hotel. Keep your expectations realistic, and you'll be very pleasantly surprised. You park in front of your room door, and walk in to a fabulous room. VHS vids are available at the desk, and there are plenty of restaurants and gift shops down the road. Your best bet is to visit Sol Food Market and Hardware (see review) nearby, and eat in your room.

Desert Pearl was recommended to us by two families. The stay not only met but far exceeded my expectations. The room was plenty big for the five of us and was well stocked with kitchen supplies. There was a lot of room to unpack all our things for our three night stay. Everything was clean, well-appointed and the view was phenomenal! We had a 2nd floor room facing the river. We enjoyed the porch and views every day after our hikes in Zion.

The kids had fun in the pool and spa, and my husband loved the coffee bar downstairs. The front desk staff was beyond helpful with every question we had. So friendly and delightful with tips and suggestions.

We parked our car and didn't touch it for days .... the shuttle stopped right out front and restaurants and shops were walking distance as well.

We loved our hikes in Zion ... but it says a lot that one of our favorite parts of this trip was just hanging out in our room at Desert Pearl. Highly recommended and can't wait to come back.

Room Tip: Rooms have wood floors so if you are sensitive to noise, request the upper floor.

Just visited Zion for the second time and found The Desert Pearl very friendly, and comfortable with its large rooms and amenities. Rooms are fitted with nearly full kitchen, table and chairs and sofa as well as a private outside sitting area. Free video library and huge swimming pool. The grounds are pristine and the convenient coffee shop are a plus.

Only wish we could have stayed longer.

What an amazing place! We have stayed here at least 5 times and it never gets old. This is by far one of my very favorite hotels on the planet. The rooms are spacious, clean and very well designed. No detail has been overlooked. The interior design is rustic contemporary and the kitchen comes fully stocked. It is the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Zion park.
We prefer the riverside rooms because they are quieter. The views from either side are fantastic. The decks are huge and come with large adirondack chairs and tables. The perfect place to kick back. I have stayed here with family and friends and I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Room Tip: Riverside rooms are quieter. Second floor has nice vaulted ceilings.
