We stayed at Ibis hotel Nanyuki city for three nights in Aug 2011
Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff; restaurant on site with a setting conducive to mingling with other guests
(open fire at night during the cool season); safe - security seems to be good; clean linens; good supply of water, both cold and hot;
variety of accommodations, free storage .
They also arrange trips to Mount Kenya , sweet water safari,caves or the waterfalls safari.We did 5 days Mt Kenya and was great.
We would recommend this hotel as a good base while in Nanyuki and Mount Kenya trip.
The guides and porters were very knowledgeable and professional.

Not a luxury hotel, but somewhat "authentic” and pretty good African hotel. It's located in town center, and has a restaurant and at bar – I didn’t find the food any good, but the Tuskers in the bar felt great.

I stayed at the hotel before and after my Mt Kenya trip, at the first visit was the toilet seat missing, something that the reception didn’t care to fix.
You have to buy Wifi access at the internet café next door of the hotel.
In all a great hotel to stay at if you are not to picky.

Hotel is pretty good for African standards. It's right in the centre and the food is supposed to be pretty good for Nanyuki. It has a pretty good bar so saves having to go out when dark - most African towns can be a little risky for any traveller unless you take a taxi.
