Cape Chestnut is not too easy to find, as it is not well marked, and the road can get muddy in the rain. But follow the large trees, and round the bend is the wonderful garden space of Cape Chestnut. Sit in the garden on one of the long tables, or inside which is homely and cosy, especially if the wood fire is burning in winter. The owners are often there at lunchtime and its open all day for either coffee, snacks or full meals. The food is wholesome, freshly cooked and always tasty. Perfectly cooked spicy chicken wings followed by home made vegetable soup was just right on an unusually cool evening. Thoroughly recommended.
