I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak before this opened, and this is just an incredible place. Set in its own land, the size of Manhattan, you can go on walking safari (almost the only place in Kenya where this is possible), or choose the jeep. Or, just sit watching the animals walk by, whether you decide to do so from the bar, the swimming pool or the observation deck. That's once you've taken in the incredible garden, the world-class African art, or indeed the fully sustainable eco-system they've pioneered. The staff couldn't be more helpful, and the rooms/houses are like a home from home. Well, rather nice than my own home, actually. Enough to make even animal-sceptics fall in love with safari.

We have traveled to many places around the world and stayed in various accommodations.. but Segera will forever remain in our hearts as "heaven on earth." Every detail incorporated by the visionary of this retreat comes together to make it a spectacular experience: lush gardens, exquisite lodgings in private two-story villas and organic, local food presented by world-class chefs. In addition, you are surrounded by captivating contemporary African art all around the grounds and in the villas. All of this is ensconsed within acres of land that is home to Africa's wild beasts. The juxtaposition of luxury and adventure is magical. The staff feels like family and anticipates your requests almost as soon as you think of it! Lounging by the pools at the end of the day is the perfect touch. Unfortunately, the spa and wine cellar were not quite open when we visited, since we were some of the earliest guests.
We plan to return with our entire family including four grandchildren as soon as they are old enough to appreciate this wonder of Segera. We cannot wait!

This was a lifetime experience!
Segera exudes beauty from the minute you step in it. You are surrounded by most beautiful landscapes, powerful modern African art, and beautiful gardens. The villas are nothing but utter luxury and beauty as you encounter nature and see the animals from the safety of your villa.
Every minute we spent there was a heart opening experience. The food was delicious. The staff were super kind and nice. And of course there is the AMAZING safari experiences. We still bright up with excitement when we think of all the animals we saw from elephants to zebras. Both the walking and the driving safari were superb and can never choose which one we liked better: we LOVED both of them. And oh, there were the picnics by the river taking you back to scenes of a romantic movie and the amazing dinner experiences every night with new surprises of the setting and the ambiance. All of that, which we could still go the gym every day and do our rounds at the pool. It is truly a life experience. I can't wait to go back again.
