A beautiful, friendly and relaxed place to unwind! I went for my 25th Wedding Anniversary and really had a fabulous time.

The staff are sincerely friendly and very trustworthy - I idiotically left my safe open twice !!

They were very happy to assist or help with anything you needed.

The ground and rooms are spotless and the restaurants were fantastic. I will agree with the comment that you have to book them in as soon as possible. We were fortunate enough to go to most restaurants twice but others we met were not so lucky -however eating in the hotels main buffet restaurant (Belafon) is no great hardship -the food is lovely.

In all honestly I would say that the sister hotel Telfair is more of a 5 star hotel but the atmosphere at the Awali was unrivalled.

in the words of mr Schwarzenneger 'I'll be back'

Heritage on a whole is an amazing place. From the people, service to atmosphere. This is truly a place to go to and really relax.
I have never eaten such different and flavourful food ever in my life.

Room Tip: Choosing a room is not really that important to me, the rooms should be for sleeping and getting rea...

We stayed at the Hertiage in April this year. It was amazing! After a long flight and a long wait to get through imigration we were taken to the resort by private taxi (about 45mins). Lovely welcome on arrival. We were asked if we would like a tour of the hotel straight away & we did. Great facilites & an awesome all inclusive package.
We booked a beach front room which was located on the top floor. Beautiful room, excellent views. Amazing smells everywhere.
The all inclusive package included champers by the glass, extensive cocktail menu, beer, wine, soft drinks and most premium brands as well, plus most of the contents of the mini bar(something we had not experienced before AI) . Eating wise there is a good choice, the main place is the balafon for breakfast & dinner which offers a good variety. Blue infinety which is located at the beach bar & the sister hotel which includes Annabella's (very nice) Gin-ja's (my favorite) C-Beach club (also very nice). didn't have a bad meal throughout our stay. However after reading reviews we tried to book our eating choices on our first day as it was easter break they were busy & booking was difficult. Le chateax we couldn't get at all which was very disappointing, we were unaware that these bookings could be made online before you arrived. This i feel is more the fault of the travel agent rather than the hotel, but it did not spoil our stay. AL does have a restrictions on the al a carte menu, but still nice choices (although very limited for my husband as he doesn't like seafood)
Other things included: glass bottom boat, snorkelling (there is a strong current to be aware of!), 4x4 trip to the local nature reserve. 50 min massage (heavenly)
Sometime the service was a bit slow, especially at lunch time, but your on holiday & we were in no rush.
We hired a car for a couple of days, which is much better than the organised trip we did that was quite expensive for what is was. We headed for cassela nature park which has 'walking with lions & tigers. We walked with the Lions, it was a totally amazing experience. loads of waterfalls to discover & some amazing views, temples.....i could go on forever!!!!!!!!
The staff at the hotel were 99% great, with 1% a bit grumpy (everyone has there off day). we had 3 chocolate cakes in a row as a surpise from the staff & hotel as it was our wedding annivesary, my birthday & my husbands birthday during our stay.
We loved this holiday, can't wait to go back. would throughly recommend it.

Our stay at Awali was very good and all staff made our holiday most enjoyable, very helpfull & friendly, We had a small problem that we had asked for ocean view rooms these were not available on the first night.

The resort Is kept clean and to a high standard at all times, You must ensure you book early for the other resteraunts, the golf course is great but not free as you have to pay for golf carts, they have small par 3 course which you can walk round.

Room Tip: Ensure you book for upper ocean view room to get a great view

We booked our honeymoon here for the 2 weeks of the Easter holidays, on hindsight this was a bad idea. The place was packed with kids and there was nowhere you could go to escape them, it would have been nice as there are a lot of honeymooning couples if there had been an adults only pool or section of the beach.
The hotel was AMAZING though. Rooms were big, clean and very well laid out.
And the dining options on the all inclusive package were like nothing we've ever came across before. We ate in 8 different places during our 13 night stay and with everything including champagne, wines, coffee etc included this made this the perfect resort for us.
The options for drinks were also endless with us trying most of the cocktails on the list, sometimes service is slow but we were relaxed so didn't mind.

Overall our stay was very good and most enjoyable, most of the staff are very helpful and frendly and the rooms are very clean, the golf course is 1st class, If you go for the deluxe ocean view room make sure that you get one on the higher floors otherwise you may be disappointed with the view.
Our only gripe was, when it was meal time be very careful, there are wild birds flying all around in the dinning areas, as soon as you leave your table and go to the buffet to get your food the birds are landing on the tables and pecking away at any food that may have been left and leaving thier droppings all over the tables and chairs. This happend to me on our first day when I sat down on my chair the bird droppings went all over the back of my clean shirt and trousers.

Room Tip: "Higher floors give a better ocean view"

Just back from the Awali and had an excellent time. The idea was to relax and unwind - mission accomplished; our room was great, the facilities clean and aesthetically pleasing, the beach beautiful and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Lots of great places to eat (Le Chateau my favourite) and a laid back, friendly ambience throughout, many thanks to Michael, Kel and Yovan (Kevin) in the Zenzibar for keeping the Daiquiri's coming! I would happily recommend the Awali to anyone looking to escape to a quiet, tranquil paradise
