We have spent the last week of july there and it was very nice. The hotel was empty but it was great. The staff is very nice and helpful, the rooms are beautiful and the food was good.

Stayed here for a 2 week all inclusive honeymoon. this is a fresh new modern resort right on the beach. The room was very spacious with a huge bathroom and glass shower. honeymooners get champagne and fruit delivered to the room, also on the second night dinner for 2 under a straw gazebo on the beach with a personalised menu. the food is absolutely top class. buffet breakfast, 4 course a la carte lunch or buffet, 5 course dinner or buffet in the evening and unlimited pool snacks & cocktails at the beach all day. 2 bars with entertainment every night. health spa was excellent as we treated ourselves to 2 treatments (not included for all incl)
the beach is small but we hired a car for a day and drove to the north of the island where it seemed that most of the beaches on the island are of similar size. because it was winter we got a bit of rain on the second week so we did a few tours, the catamaran trip (dolphin and whale watching)/casela park (lion walking and quad safari)/ and we got a driver for a day to tour all the sights were all well worth the money.
Staff and service at the resort couldn't be more helpful a lot of european hotels could learn a few things!
only negative we had was the weather which being their winter it can get a bit cloudy in the afternoons with a bit of rain. but outside that we had an excellent time and wished we could stay longer

Great locn but can't swim in sea immediately outside hotel as full of sea urchins
Also cannot kitesurf immedaitely in front of the hotel
WIFI is Eur10 per hour and doesn't work in the room
Empty of guests
Staff VERY attentive, too much so for my liking
Wife loved the interiors, eg bathrooms MASSIVE, with bath and large shower and plenty of room for the cot!
We were all-inclusive
Feels isolated, the location, 3 other 4/5* resorts next door then that's it - the life ont he island is more in the north
Remember if you come in the winter (southern hemisphere) that the pool is COLD

Our main reason for going to the southern part of the islan was for kite surfing, I know everybody raves about LeMorn but we wanted something a friendlier for the kids. The hotel is beautiful and the staff where great, staff was not in your face but always around if you needed them, the kids club was great but only catered for kids over 3 years old. Rooms where great, food was good and the transfer took about 40min from the airport. I took a 10min walk down the Beach to Le Telfair and kited from there on the inner reef, booties is a must. I rented a scooter from the hotel and it took 20min to ride to LeMorn with my kiting gear and I loved that little commute, I highly recommend it. Their sap was also nice. The beach and pool where great and I must say I will definitely go back there.

We stayed 4 nights at Tamassa in June 2009.I highly recommend this place, this hotel is really stunning. The service is perfect, employees are really nice, smiling and helpful. The rooms are brand new, decoration is very pretty, terrace is nice
We loved the style of the hotel especially the lobby, very zen!
Beach is nice, not huge either ....but you have sunbeds in front of the sea in the grass and it makes the place very enjoyable

Swimming pools are huge. You have plenty of sunbeds and they are not close of each other. We did not try the SHOW restaurant as it was exceptionnally closed, instead we had all our meals (we were in all inclusive formula) at the restaurant Playa. The location of the restaurant is very nice, near the beach, you've a band the evening it gives a very cosy atmosphere.
The food we had was really exceptionnal, so tasty! Really the quality, the selection of the menus was perfect!!!

Negative points of the hotel : if you are all in formula you can't have free drinks before 11.00 am (except of course during breakfast and mini bar drinks) and after midnight
Also they do not know who is all in or half board so each time you drink or eat something you must sign the bill....even if you are in all in formula ....every day reception will check all the bills to update your account

Unuseful and annoying they could replace this system by a bracelet for all in guests...much more easier for guests and employees...

The cleaning ladies come around 07.00 pm knocking at your door to check if you need more towels...unuseful and disturbing....for us ...

About the location I'd say it is in middle of nowhere! Be aware of it, this is why I advise you to choose the all inclusive formula. No restaurants, bars around.
If you choose half board, lunchs and drinks are very expensive...but this is the case for all the hotels in Mauritius!

We were aware of the location of this hotel and we enjoyed it!!! It is very quiet and relaxing!

I 'll definitely come back there!!! And I of course highly recommend this place!

I want to thank all the Tamassa staff for their kindness and for their extraordinary service, for me this hotel deserves to be a 5* !
A special huge thank you to Ashvin (front office manager) for his professionnalism, kindness and his help during our stay

Oh yes our stay at Tamassa will be unforgettable!
