“Beautiful views over the river”
Reviewed 23 November 2013 via mobile

We stayed two nights in this riverside hotel and enjoyed the views sunset and the relaxed atmosphere. Food was good and we also made use of the small meetingroom. Friendly service and nice rooms although not all with riverview.

Only had one night but we had a massive room with large bathroom. Very powerful shower. All very clean. Good toiletries provided. Beautiful view of the river especially in the morning light. Obviously caters a lot for groups but as independent travellers we were still well looked after. Great baguettes at breakfast but coffee not as good as elsewhere in Laos. Cooked options available. The hotel was very quiet to be in even though a lot of guests. Pool looked great but we didn't have tme to use it. SunBeds could do with updating. Good location for walking into town for bars and restaurants. Would have liked another night to explore the area more

Nice hotel by the river. The rooms are clean with good linen. Beds are normal for the country, firm but fine. The staff are friendly and helpful. the bar by the pool makes great drinks and a lovely spot to relax after a hectic day. Good location. Walking distance to everything.
Awesome views of the limestone karats and sunsets.

Room Tip: All rooms are good, delux only had queen bed

Ok room, shower huge but old fashioned, good views over the river, bed comfortable but only two pillows, air conditioning effective but noisy. It feels from the outside that it ought it be a fancy new hotel but on the inside it was a bit tired. Breakfast was disappointing, maybe because all the other guests were Korean so the choice for us wasn't too good. Didn't feel like anyone really minded who we were or what we did. The location is good, though, as you can walk straight out and into this little town. I can imagine that before they dealt with the drunken backpacker problem the town must have been awful. I quite liked it...pretty and well kept and a fabulous natural setting.

The rooms were big and the pool was nice. The service we experienced was also ok, but as people have said it feels the whole place does feel a little tired (a bit like Vang Vieng itself!). Didn't see inside any other places in Vang Vieng, so hard to draw any comparisons. But if your expectations aren't too high, you can appreciate the lareg rooms, bathrooms and nice pool.

In this backpacker town we were not spoilt for choice of hotel, as there are few top end options. The Vansana was among the best we saw but is still only just adequate. Our 'executive suite'
was large, but in need of renovation, with curtains which were shredded in places. The bathroom was reasonably clean, but there appeared to be only limited hot water in the shower, so taking two after each other was a problem. The bed was rock hard and we had to ask them to change the pillows for softer ones. Breakfast was poor, very limited choice and even at 8 only congealed fried eggs and sausages left on the hot plate. Few of the staff speak much english therefore service can be a problem. On the plus side, there is a stunning view over the river and the hotel does have a nice pool if the weather is good enough to use it.

Room Tip: Ask to see a room first, then decide.

I booked directly with the hotel and they even confirmed the booking a couple of days prior, however when I arrived they had the incorrect number of days and people stay, even though they had confirmed the correct information.
The room was dirty with used shampoo bottles etc still in the bathroom, and the room looked nothing like the deluxe pictures on the website. We were on the first floor left corner and had construction noise from next door which started early and finished late. The air con was so loud we couldn't leave it on at night, and it leaked water onto the floor. The view from the room was awesome, but we had a big tree in front of the balcony so couldn't enjoy it.
The only plus would have been the pool if it had been sunny to enjoy it. The pool appeared to be clean and well maintained. Breakfast was okay - not a big selection though. Staff were hit and miss with some being helpful and attentive, while others did not even acknowledge when you were standing at the reception desk. A gentleman helped us with our bags up and down the stairs, which was much appreciated.
Would definitely stay something else next time.

Room Tip: Avoid staying on the left side where the construction is and the stairs are steep going to the leve...
