Stayed here for 3 nights the start of February. The manager was lovely, we checked in and had some welcoming drinks. We were shown to our room which was up the stairs, in one of the rooms to the right. The sun was beating in the window, there was gaps under the main room door and the balcony door. There was little insects crawling around the floor and then we looked out side the window and saw the roosters (we had read about this on trip adviser and asked for a quite room). We went back to the manager and ask could we move to a different room. This was no problem as we had checked in early so there was rooms still unoccupied.

The room we moved to was much better, no gaps under the doors and the room was a lot cooler. The restaurant was good value for money as residents got 10% off every meal. You also got a free cocktail each night which was a nice touch. The only thing I would say was the staff were fine while the manager was there, they were all on their toes but during our stay he was off one day (think it was a Sunday) and the service in the hotel dramatically declined with staff wearing their normal clothes and practically rolling their eyes if you asked for anything. The Inthiria had a sister hotel down by the river and you could use there pool if you wished.

We booked the sunset hot air balloon ride through the hotel at $80 pp. Wouldn't recommend this due to the following reasons:

(a) Landed before the sun had set
(b) The pilot landed the balloon between two high voltage power lines, very dangerous.
(c) The heat from the over head flame was too close to our heads and unbearable. ( Peeling skin the following day)
(d) The balloon basket was over crowded, no real opportunity for pictures

However this is a great budget hotel, some nice clean rooms and its in a good location. I would just like to add also that the rooms do not have fridges, it would of been nice to have a fridge to keep our drinks cold.

Room Tip: Ask for a room upstairs with no gaps under the doors and the opposite side to the roosters.

I enjoyed staying here a lot because I find the room very comfortable and breakfast was included as well. The staff, especially Thong I believe his name was, was very helpful and generally very efficient. I ate a few meals there and I found it of good quality. If you want a good guesthouse and good service but don't want to pay too much, this is it.

This hotel is located parallel to the beautiful river which is full of water sport activities, although it's within walking distance to the happening restaurant and bar area of riverfront but this hotel offers you a peaceful and quiet night sleep, away from the rowdy drunkard backpackers.

Room Tip: Don't forget to try their delicious deep fried whoole fish, although it says bbq grilled on the...

Nice, clean en suite room. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Was woken up by an annoying cockeral during first night but by the second night, kind of got used to it's constant cockadoodledoo-ing and wasn't quite so disturbed by it. Excellent value for money. Was able to use the sister hotel's pool so, for a budget hotel, I would highly recommend the place.

I've already stayed at another Inthira hotel and liked it. So I decided to try this one. I was not disappointed. The same principle here: a restaurant and bar in the front, rooms in the back. My room was clean, spacious, but could use some extra furniture to make it more comfortable. Bathroom and shower were OK. Friendly staff, food was good in the restaurant. The hotel is located in the more quiet area of Vang Vieng, a few hunderd meters away from the river.

Room Tip: The rooms on the 2nd floor have better views

the great views are the best thing about this place, yes, I agree it was a touch noisy, but the noise died down in time for my beauty sleep, so I wasn't too bothered about that, for the price you pay here, you really can't complain (altho' on this site, ppl seem to be vefry good at just that)

We really liked the Inthira and it was a nice hotel at a good price for our last night in town. We'd already stayed on the river for two nights so got to enjoy the amazing views there. The only issue we had was not something the hotel could do anything about, but it was disruptive. On Saturday night, when we stayed, there was some local event nearby in an outside lot that went on for hours past curfew (until at least 2:30 am) and was broadcast over incredibly loud and poor quality speakers. The noise and bass just reverberated into our room for hours and we couldn't get to sleep. So if this is a regular weekly event, I'd avoid Saturday nights here. Although not sure how you'd find out. Otherwise, the room, hotel and staff were great.
