If you have been to caves before don't bother.
Just a cave at the end of a very large staircase.
Nothing out of the ordinary.
Although it is located in a nice parkland setting.

“Panoramic view from the cave”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 February 2013

Contrary to some other reviews, I liked the visit of the cave. It is a lovely walk or bikeride from the center. Yes, you have to walk up quite a few stairs to the entrance, but you are rewarded by a very fantatistic view of the countryside: the Nam Ou river, the ricepaddies and the limestone mountains. From a gap in the cave you will have an even better view. And there is a cool spring at the foot of the cave where you can have a swim on a hot day. If you want to explore the cave, don't forget to bring a torch (flashlight).

“Interesting But Can Be Passed Over”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 February 2013

A somewhat interesting stop in the area, but for all the trouble of getting there and the climb to the cave, I would suggest passing on this attraction. Now if you are one who simply has to see everything that is available, this is definitely for you.

“Walking distance to town”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 January 2013

Interesting views back to town and a nice walk and park type area.
The Cave itself was smaller than I expected.

“the walk is better than the cave”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 December 2012

going caving in vang vieng is more about the walk than the cave.
we went to the very first cave going from the tole bridge to the right. the cave itself was disappointing and very tight, so we called it off after a few meters. same with our second cave which has pictures on the road with a small lake inside and a tube.
having said that, the highlight really are the off road wlaks to the cave, rice fields, bush, cows mini jungle banana field and 100m high limestones over ur head. not to mention the bamboo bridges crossing. and 100m in lao is missing a zero.
so basically enjoy the walk and dnt get ur hopes high about the caves
