“Definitely a reason why it's #1 on trip advisor”

I loved loved loved this hotel. I didn't want to leave.

I had booked one of the guesthouses in hopes that I would be able to meet people as a solo traveler. I was pretty horrified at the conditions there and turned around to come to river view that I had seen on my ride into town. It was so welcoming, esp after that other experience. Even as a solo person, I never felt uncomfortable. It's a great place for honeymooners and the view is just incredible. The food is great and I would recommend just eating at the hotel. Vang vieng doesn't really have any good restaurants. They get most of the fresh food from the mulberry farm. I was amazed when the manager drove me to the farm himself, after I couldn't find a tuk tuk. They are so accommodating and I will tell all my friends to come here.

Vang Vieng is NOT my "Cup of Tea" It is busy town of cheap restaurants, noisy bars and cheap guest houses catering to the back packer crowd , not that we grumpy older folk see anything wrong with that ! its just NOT our scene (can't remember if it ever was !) HOWEVER ! the Riverside Boutique Hotel IS our scene . This hotel is a visual and comfort paradise !

From the moment we checked into our upper floor , pool, river, and moutain facing room we were in Heaven ! I have never stayed in any hotel with better views than this one ,

If I was to choose a place to end my days it would be here, Looking from our room across the manicured lawns, across the river and towards the dramatic limestone peaks in the distance was amazing.

For the first few hours we sat on our balcony starring AGOG! at the view. The dusty little approach road to the hotel is deceptive, once you are through the gates it is a different world,
we spent hours watching children and families enjoying the river, washing , playing, fishing .

There is a "bamboo" bridge ( not really bamboo these days ) that you can use to cross the river for a small fee, it is used by all kinds of vehicles and pedestrians and leads to some nice river bank walks and if you wish to you can cross back over smaller bridges to get into the town.

The main street near the hotel has every kind of shop required and if you walk towards the river in the hotel grounds , turn right and right again you come to another hotel with a very attractive restaurant and bar terrace overlooking the river.

Breakfast is taken in an upstairs room overlooking the river and mountains and is very high quality.

At night the trees in the grounds are lit with lanterns and the effect is quite magical.

I could easily spend weeks at this hotel and just CHILL! Wev cannot wait to come back here and it would be a good place to end your days! There goes the age thing again !

loved the view. next to the paradise bridge so could people watch bridge traffic, kids playing in river and stunning view of the hills. At one point we were one of three couples staying at the resort. They did not skimp on staff for dinner at the restaurant and still put on the full buffet menu for the six of us at breakfast. Pool clean and bar service excellent. Could not fault the staff including grounds, reception and dinning excellent. would most probably hire cycles rather than walk to town if it is hot. available at reception.

Our two night stay here was almost perfect. We had booked one of their deluxe rooms with a view. When we were shown to the room it turned out to have an obstructed view. The hotel is arranged like a "U" around the pool with the top of the "U" facing the mountains. Obviously, rooms on the side of the "U" face the other side. I spoke to the extremely accommodating manager, Emmanuel, and, after only a hint of resistance, he acknowledged that the view from the room could be better and we were moved to one with a full, straight on view of the mountains and the river. It might not have been such an issue for us if not for the fact that we'd booked it 10 months ago and had selected and paid extra for one of their rooms with a view. If this is not that important for you, all of the rooms have a pleasant view.

The room itself was lovely and large, the beds of high quality and the bathroom well appointed. If one had mobility issues, given that the combo' tub/shower is fairly high to get into, this could be difficult. The toiletries - shampoo, shower gel - were in refillable dispensers which I think is the only way they should be provided. The quantity of shampoo and plastic bottles which must end up in landfills from hotels is a crime. Top marks to this property.

Breakfast is served on a terrace overlooking the river and is a beautiful location. The buffet is more than ample with a selection of western and Asian dishes and the ubiquitous wonderful croissants and French breads.

The manager, Emmanuel, is always present (I don't think he ever went to bed) and is the most pleasant and helpful person you could imagine. He is one of the strongest assets of this property.

Finding this hotel in Vang Vieng - we stopped here to break up the trip from Vientiane to LP - was a real gift.

We planned a two night stop in Vang Vieng. Could have stayed two weeks at this property. The location is ideal with a beautiful mountain view, the pool is spectacular, the rooms are comfortable and well maintained and the kitchen does great work. Great attention has been paid to staff training. There was the customary language issue but not insurmountable. More important than language skills, staff exhibit wonderful hospitality and charm. The resident manager, Emmanuel, was ever-present and a wonderful host. If you are here on a Saturday night, they offer a poolside Lao buffet complete with local entertainment. It's very reasonably priced and very nicely executed. A lovely setting for the evening. The gift shop is well stocked with high quality goods and the breakfast buffet is most enjoyable. By most standards this is a real bargain. Spoil yourself, you won't be disappointed. Get a deluxe room.

Arriving we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff in the reception. Checking in was quick. We stayed in the Tai Daeng suite with view over both the river and pool area. Excellent accommodation with a dinning table and a sofa set in the separate living room. The bedroom was big and the large bed very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with both Asian and western food. We had dinner twice at the resort and food was tasty and not expensive considering the standard of the resort. The wine is a bit pricey and offering a house wine at a lower rate would be welcome. The weekly barbecue around the pool with dance performance by the Vangvieng youthclub was excellent. Staff are all very friendly and always ready to help. The GM is doing a great job and stays in contact with you during your stay to ensure your needs are addressed. The birthday cake for my wife was a nice surprice! Thanks! Only one minor issue, the wifi is very slow. We will for sure be back!

Superbe! Vang Vieng was such a surprise we are sorry we did not stay longer. But I will return in a few months. We arrived driving by car from a 6 hour journey from Luang Prabang and immediately greeted with kindness from the staff at the Front Desk. We were then taken to our rooms, spacious, elegantly decorated with a balcony to the pool.
Clean, well-organized, spacious bathroom, useful handle on the tub. After a quick change we went to the pool and enjoyed a snack and a drink watching the sunset among surrounding towering peaks. The property is nestled between the Nam Song River and scattered mountains, some incredible views. I suggest everyone to take a bike (offered by the hotel) and roam the bucolic surrounding areas. Highly recommended the 'tubing' experience, ask the reception guys, they will help. Food was great, we had lunch and dinner, waiters speak English and service is impeccable. Best breakfast we had in Laos! I cannot forget the collection of home-made jams and rich assortment of croissant, different kind of bread and cheese. The GM is kind, attentive, and friendly and does a great job managing all aspects of the property.

Room Tip: We stayed in Deluxe rooms and they were all comfortable.
