The hotel definitely lived up to our expectations. The setting is absolutely amazing and the view from our balconies (overlooking the pool, with the karst hills and the river in the background) was breathtaking. The rooms are very comfortable and tastefully decorated, as is the rest of the hotel. All the details seem perfect and everything seemed of top quality (for Laos in any case). It's definitely worth investing in a room here, especially considering how shabby the rest of Vang Vieng is. Internet also seemed to work fine while we were there.

According to the local guides, this is the best hotel in Vang Vieng and I cant agree more.. The perfect scenery from the swimming pool... the friendly staff.. The room is however just any average hotel room. The advantage of this hotel is its scenery but the disadvantage would be the distance from the main city area. The main city area is not too far off but if you are lugging all your luggages from the bus dropoff point, its gonna be a torturous.. Hopefully the resort would think of providing free shuttle service for travellers who just reach the accommodation by bus.. That will definitely be a perfect touch to the resort.

Something however to note for all travellers is that since you pay a premium price for the accommodation, you may want to consider allocating time to spend by the pool overlooking the amazing view rather than outside the resort. Otherwise you are better off booking an average hotel since there is access to such view everywhere within Vang Vieng.

Dear guest, thank you for your comment regarding the need to offer free transfers from the bus station to the Resort. It is indeed our intention to do so and we have ordered a customized tuktuk for this purpose. We hope that the new service will be available to our guests starting next month. Best regards,

I think you'll be hard pushed to find a more spectacular view from a hotel pool. Brave the mossies and stay in situ for sunset. The light is gorgeous as the mountain view changes by the minute.
This is a really lovely hotel, perfectly positioned just on the edge of town. Our room was generous with balconies facing the garden. We ate in the restaurant the night we stayed and the food was fine.
Perhaps the highlight for me was the excellent level of service from everyone we met: front-of-house, wait staff etc. Ms Noy was an especially attentive and gracious hostess and she, along with the whole team, worked very hard to make our brief stay a genuinely happy one. This was some of the best service we received in Laos: understated, efficient and sincerely friendly. If you are making a road trip between Vientaine and Laung Prabang then Vang Vieng is likely to be an overnight stop. If you want a splash of luxury comfort, give Ms Noy and her team a call and they will make it so. It'll be worth your while.

Room Tip: I'm fairly sure all the rooms have a view, but given the spectacular scenery, it's worthwhil...

I work in Laos for more than 10 years already (living in Thailand) and this time I went back to Vang Vieng with my business partner, mother, friend and my god son. We stayed here and it was a great place. Super location, the best breakfast I ever had in a place in Laos and the rooms were great too. Too bad we could not extend our stay due to the hotel being fully booked. Keep on going and keep up the super service. The only negative was that there were not enough staff during the breakfast and we had to wait quite long for coffee refills but then we are in Laos, right....Bo Pen Yang !!!!

We spent 3 nights here with our family. Booked the hotel direct and we got free upgrades from Classic to Deluxe. We paid for an extra bed for our oldest child (almost 10). Rooms are very nicely decorated, good size and cannot fault much (wouldn't have mind a simple turn down service or towel replacement, even if it's on request, as things get dirty quickly with all the dust especially in dry season). The a/c in the kids room seemed to work a little better than ours for some reason but it was hot outside. Had a small cold water problem but staff was responsive and was resolved immediately. The general manager is very friendly and genuinely interested. The surroundings are beautiful, the grounds well kept. English is more than sufficient (way better than a few years back when we visited Laos the first time). Although Vang Vieng still has a party town reputation, it has lots to offer for families. The kids loved playing in the river, walking over the bridge, visiting the caves, swimming in the pool, etc. They had a great time. Breakfast was sufficient (I'd say the Green Park Boutique Hotel - sister hotel - in Vientiane was slightly more extensive. You can have breakfast inside and outside. We had lunch once and dinner once and while the prices are obviously higher than in town, so is the quality of the food and the service. Pool staff was very responsive with clean towels and bringing cold water. Staff was constantly busy. Very little disturbance from other rooms. All rooms have a nice balcony with a drying rack and two chairs. Staff was helpful making transfer and transportation arrangements (we visited the Organic Farm and the Blue Lagoo with a tuk tuk). The general manager was helpful for dining options outside the hotel (although there are not many options yet). We had dinner at AMD twice, a very local and basic Asian restaurant 100 meters south of the hotel, but great food and lovely people (it's family owned, highly recommend) and we had lunch at Le Verandah which you can basically enter through the hotel garden on the north side. Lots of restaurants in town offer mediocre food and this is probably one of the areas with all the current changes that Vang Vieng has to work on. This hotel is a great start of the "newer" Vang Vieng and there is honestly not a better place to stay. Compared to Western hotel prices (I know you can't, but still) this level of service and facilities is unbeatable. Riverside Boutique Resort is doing a great job. Beautiful and peaceful surroundings ... this is the "new" Vang Vieng ...

Room Tip: We had a ground floor in K-block, overlooking the pool. No disturbance from upstairs. The view upsta...

Stopped here to break the road journey between Luang Prabang and Vientiane. Nice room with AC and balcony. Excellent pool for cooling off and gardens overlook the river. There is a rickety bridge next to the hotel and it's interesting to watch the pedestrians, cyclists and all manner of vehicles make the crossing.
The bed was not at all comfortable and there was no storage space allowing you to completely unpack - detracting from what was otherwise an excellent hotel.

Dear guest, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you found the bed uncomfortable. Since your visit, we have equipped all our beds with mattress toppers which, we hope, will strike the right balance between the preference of Asian guests for hard mattresses, and the preference of Western guests for soft mattresses. We look forward to welcoming you again. Best regards,

This hotel is a definite pick in the hot season. It's blessed wih gorgeous views of the river and mountains! And for the hot season, the rooms have powerful air conditioning! The A/C was more than adequate to cool the room, and we even had to turn it down because it was too cool at some points.

The location is great -- just cross the bridge to the right when you exit the hotel to visit some of the local caves.
