Located at the far end of the beach strip, PVR offers the tranquility that everyone looks for when they come to Ngapali. Excellent and friendly staff with great WiFi. The best restaurant in town, PVI, is world standard and run by an enthusiastic chef. A safe and a ceiling fan would make this place even better since the AC is shut off between 7am and 2pm.

My second visit to Ngapali Beach. I opted to stay at a less expensive hotel than last time when I stayed at Bay View. PLEASANT VIEW RESORT was a refreshing surprise. The hotel is at the opposite end of the beach from the Bay View. It was designed by a Burmese architect, and is run by a Burmese couple. Clean design with lovely, comfortable rooms and beds, and good quality cotton sheets, not something you come across often in Burma. Great service. Relaxing atmosphere.

I agree with 8mm and Simonv that the hotel restaurant doesn't have the best food in town. But still, we went a few times. At lunch, when the tide is low, you can walk to the restaurant. You CAN get there for dinner when tide is high, because they have a boat and boatman there for one reason only: to take customers back and forth. It is free, and a hoot to wade up to the boat in the warm water, hop into the boat, zip across to the islet, and walk barefoot along the walkway to the restaurant.

I would go back to the Pleasant View Resort in a heartbeat.

Upon arrival at the airport, you go out of the airport where they bring your luggages. Then you are picked up with an old model bus or a minivan. You drive along the beach to the end of the resort row...so it is a bit private, clean and quiet.

I had stayed at this resort twice already and have loved it everytime. Their rooms ( on the new 2-storey buildings) all have a balcony facing the ocean. The room is huge and airy and clean. The second floor is much more private but the ground floor has a direct access to the beach.

The other type of accommodations are the duplex cabanas. The layout of the room is great. It has a small open veranda with 2 lounge wooden chairs to watch the sunset. The beds are either 2 twin beds or 1 queen bed, depending on which cabana you get. The room has a small sofa and table, TV, aircon ( only on during the evenings until dawn). The bathroom is of good size and separate toilet. The wash basin is outside the bathroom/toilet so you can us it even when someone is using the bathroom.
At the back, there is also a small veranda with a wooden hanging tree. I would bring some Saran wrap and wrap it around the hanging bars to avoid some varnish line on your wash. If you do, it is easily removed by washing it again.

The staff are all smiles and are willing to help you make your stay. They have bicycles onsite to borrow.

Breakfast is in a separate building, partly open air. Breakfast spread is sufficient and delicious. Made to order eggs and their coffee is great.

By the beach, on an island, the resort has the Island Restaurant where you can have lunch or dinner. Nice place to relax and enjoy the view.

The beach infront of this hotel is wide and nice. Not very crowded. It is separated by a small shallow river from a small fishing village ( nice to visit when they haul in the night's haul of fish and the village folks scatter them on the hay-covered beach to dry.

I would highly recommend staying at this resort.

Room Tip: Get the cabanas facing the sea...or the second floor in the building for privacy. Internet and mobi...

Although the service was ok the situation of the hotel is not good. Windy and close to the fisherman village, it can be smelly sometimes.
The restaurant accessible when tide is low only as this is not convenient to take the boat to reach the restaurant on the islet. Moreover, as it is windy in the evening, i'd rather advise the small seafood restaurant by the street.

We spent 5 fabulous days relaxing at Pleasant View, Ngapali Beach. Lovely setting, clean hotel, staff always smiling and helpful. Try the first and second beach restaurants for great sea food at knock down prices. We tried pleasant view islet restaurant very disappointing and over priced.

We had loved travelling around Burma but after our hectic schedule we needed somewhere to relax before our long flight home and Ngapali Beach and especially the Pleasant View fitted thebill perfectly.

The staff were so friendly and our lovely accommodation facing the wide sandy beach with views of the ocean and Pleasant view restaurant was perfect. Food was great and we could not have picked better.

A bit of a bumpy ride from the airport but I could handle 15/20 minutes of that for the sake of the eventual destination and I suspect the road will be improved soon with the increasing tourist density...get there now while it is unspoilt

Room Tip: Whilst this hotel had no fitness room or swimming pool it is right on the ocean/sea. Our room 108 A...

We were recommended this resort after our initial choice accommodation was fully booked for the dates of our intended travel. We had no regrets on our decision to stay at PVR instead. It turned out to be the most serene and relaxing leg of our trip.

Upon arrival at Ngapali airport, we were greeting by old-school buses that would ferry the guest to their respective resorts. PVR turned out to be situated further from the airport and near one of the fishing villages. It was a good location as it was not too near the main shop areas but still accessible by bicycle, foot or vehicle to other parts.

The staff at the resort were friendly and most spoke good English, which made communication easier and we enjoyed the conversations, especially with the general manager who attended guests’ requests and queries promptly. The villas were well designed and attention was paid to it being a beach resort. The best part of it was having a lovely unspoiled beach right in front of the villas. The place was still relatively free from touts when we visited in Jan 2012 and staff were discreet in going about their duties, so we basically had many peaceful hours lounging on the deck chairs, sun-tanning or reading. We tried a snorkel/boat trip arranged by the hotel and enjoyed just spending idyllic time on a nearby sand island, enjoying tropical drinks.

We have to make special mention of the restaurant on a connecting islet to the resort. It is an experience walking on the sandbank to reach the restaurant when the tide is low and wading back after a satisfying meal. The menu was rather extensive and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunsets there almost every evening.

All in all, we had a lovely and very relaxing time at PVR in Ngapali, free from the crowds and hassle of life. Truly a blissful leg and highlight of our trip to Myanmar.
