Great stay at the Pleasant View resort.  Lovely setting on the beach next to fishing village.  Lots of photo opportunities.  Restaurant for lunch and dinner on an island accessed by a causeway.  Sea food and fruit especially good.  Staff attentive and helpful.  1st floor room was airy and cool with balcony in a newly completed block set back from the shore.   Air conditioning in use over night not needed in the day time.  No bed nets although breezy so mosquitos not a problem.  Spa available for massages etc. We ate at a coule of local restaurants including the one on the beach just next door to the resort excellent grilled king prawns.  Woken by chanting and loud music near by played from the early hours of the morning some days.

This place not only has the location it also provides great service. They pick you up at the airport, confirm your departure flight and check you in at the airport. For sunset views, calm beach for swimming and walking in the sand, and great breakfast this place can't be beat easily. It is also located right near beach shack restaurants that serve the freshest and most delicious seafood for inexpensive prices including alcoholic drinks.

Room Tip: Ask for first floor sea front room for ease of access to the beach. They also provide beach chairs with shade.

Incredible beach view rooms (some bungalows for more money) but very clean and amazing location. Beach amenities are all fabulous, chairs, towels, massages, all top notch.
Breakfast is included and also beautiful.. Hot buffet and traditional Burmese eggs/toast. Plan on being full all DAY. MeMeKo at reception is delightful. Internet in reception is better than in the room.
They will fill your water bottles for you, so don't bother buying extra bottles.
Fruit ladies on the beach are a delight, especially Dada.

We stayed in an upper floor, ocean facing unit. It was very clean, had a great view, and excellent access to beach chairs and swimming. The beach is one of the most beautiful I have seen, with calm, perfectly temperatured, swimming water. The restaurant on the rock, has a phenomenal location and the food is solid. Service is hit or miss...something to do with management - same with the restaurant where breakfast is served (where the manager's needs were more important than guests!). Front staff were very effecient and spoke good English. We also ate supper at the second beach restaurant and it was delicious. My husband's birthday supper was at the Sandoway -which is where I would stay next time. Getting to Ngapali is such an arduous task for someone from the west coast of the U.S., it's just worth it to have all amenities when you finally get there 31 hours later!
In the evenings, there is the prevalent smell of citronella, all along the beach but it doesnt take away from the loveliness of the warm water and cool sand. Pleasant View is also just finishing up construction of some new, nice looking units, away from the beach, and right next to the road. In fact, there's tons of construction going on everywhere (the main road is being re-done), which makes for a lot of noise and dust.
We took a walk south to the end and found it amazing to visit the neighborhoods, view the schools, and watch the boys playing soccer after a day of fishing. There were charming ponies with bells on the beach and the quintessential lady with fruit on a tray walking back and forth on the beach until you give in an finally buy something from her.
Overall, it was a very pleasant stay...the highlight being the wonderful beach, efficient and friendly staff, and overall relaxing stay.

Room Tip: Ask for beach front only - we liked the upper floor but the lower floor units allow one to walk right out to the beach.

This small low key resort provides everything you need for total relaxation. Not specifically titled an 'eco' resort, but it had that feel about it. The beachfront bungalows all face the sea and have beautful sea and sunset views over to the islet, which you can paddle out to visit the resorts restaurant. Bungalows had timber furniture, very comfortable beds and lovely fresh white linen. We felt no need to use the air conditioner in January and the bungalow was quite cool enough. Housekeeping staff were attentive but never intrusive, and although they made beds/changed towels in the morning and did a bed turn back, insect spray and put on outside ligthts in the evening - we never saw them once!!.Breakfast was very good, with lots of variety and beachfront views. I love the fact that there is an authentic functioning fishing village just next to the resort and we also found very good beach bars/cafes metres from our bungalow. Probably not exciting enough for youngsters - everything closes down around 9.30, but that could be said for all of Myanmar. There are two or three much flashier resorts on Ngapali beach, but if I ever return it will be to Pleasant View.

Room Tip: Choose a beachfront bungalow for closest proximity to the beach, but all rooms had views of the sea
