This time, I will just write a review as a comparison between the Ocean Wing and the Garden Wing which might be helpful for the guests to choose somehow.

Last year, i got a chance to stay at Ocean Wing, as my mother had a seminar at this hotel, and this time i stayed there for my work. I was a bit surprised that the room in Garden Wing is actually nicer than the more expensive one at the Ocean Wing. Although the room is smaller than the ocean wing, it is spacious and comfortable enough. The big difference would be the bathroom that is simpler and smaller in the Garden wing. However I didnt get any problems with all the facilities in room. Everything worked fine, I even got more satisfied comparing to my last stay.

Garden Wing does not provide swimming pool, so guests have to walk to the big ones close to the beach but i dont think this is the big problem, The breafast was just okay. it was just edible and not so many choices. No sereals nor corn flakes :( As i remember, there are more choices for breakfast at the Ocean Wing, but yea it is logical as the guests paid more at the Ocean Wing.

This is a huge hotel (hence ambassador city) catering mainly to the conference and tour group crowd. It is a hotel catering to all budgets, from the basic, budget rooms to the top-end luxury. I stayed in the top-end of the range, so this review is from that perspective.

The top-end rooms are situated in the Ocean Tower, and the top of the top-end is on the 17th floor. The room was spacious, new, painted and furnished in pristine white. Nothing to complain about the room except the fact that it did not come with free wifi. And for that end of luxury, one would expect wifi to be given complimentary. Even when paid for, the wifi connection was spotty.

Breakfast was in the VIP section, segregated from the rest of the hotel residents. The spread was scrumptious and sumptious.

However, this hotel is not anywhere near Pattaya downtown. It is in fact situated in the middle of nowhere. A return trip to downtown Pattaya by taxi costs USD$20. If you are attending a conference there, you have no choice but to stay at this hotel. If you are not, then bear in mind the distance from Pattaya downtown.

All in, I will give it a rating of 4, given the downsides of the hotel's location, and the absence of free wifi in the 5 star section of the hotel.

I've been coming to Ambassador City Jomtien once a year for thirteen years now, because they hold the annual Thai Surgeons Congress. Basically, the hotel is at least 30 years old, and the rooms are very old style and outdated - you can tell from the architecture of the hotel how old it is. However, it is a huge hotel with many wings (buildings) to stay in, and the meeting rooms are huge - which is why the surgical congress is held here every year.
Over the years, they have undergone many renovations - they now have two restaurants near the beach. They do have a private beach and sports facilities.
Overall, it's a very old hotel and the rooms are not the best and I wouldn't stay here voluntarily. But if you're organizing a big gathering, and you need a venue, this would work!

Room Tip: Ocean Wing and Tower Wing are the two better 'wings' to stay at.

We stayed in an Ocean Wing room. Good location, just a little distance from south Pattaya. Room a little dated, but the bed sheet is white and clean. Incidentally, the toilet cleansing hose was leaking, even the serviceman had just fixed it for us.

Breakfast was great, with plentiful of choices to choose from. Large area of dining place.

Best of all are the three big swimming pools (though a bit crowded, on 10 May 2014) with clean sea shore.

Room Tip: Like the Ocean Wing building, which is closer to the beach.

Ambassador is more than the best. Here is the one of my memories which I traveled with my family and my old friends.

If you would go to Pattaya, this hotel is my recommendation.

There have the private Beach. It's in hotel area...suitable for take a sunbath, swimming, lay down on the beach. And enclosed the main swimming pool area. we loved its !!!

whatever you say...in the last day and today this hotel 's still wonderful service.
I have stayed with my family who were fussy. But the staff were professional, could deal with pressure. Great job!!!

Almost of the staffs were great, good take care :)
The restaurant was nice. (foods were also good, Many choice which was selected )
I'd pass this review to thanks all of hotel staffs...espeacially, housekeeping staffs who made up our room (Becaz our room was very dirty ) and also waiter or waitress who work in breakfast time...Thank you very much :)

This hotel is in a beautiful location and has wonderful pools, beach, drinks, shopping and food. It is located in Pattaya, not in Sattahip. It is a short walk from the hotel to a main street where you can get a taxi or baht bus. Be sure and determine your fare before accepting the ride. At this time the exchange rate was $1US = 32 Thai Baht. Yes, you can live and buy cheaply in Thailand.
The hotel was filled with non-english speaking Russian and Chinese vacationers. I am an American married to a Chinese and can speak Mandarin so it was ok. If you are hampered by only speaking English then this might not be the correct choice. Also the hotel is about 30 years old, has some maintenance issues and is cooled by swamp coolers that always leave you feeling damp. All in all I enjoyed our family stay at this hotel

Room Tip: High rooms have great views and good breeze

It is a big hotel complex with many different wings. It is quite a bit away from crowded main Pattaya city. There are quite a few nice restaurants in the compound. A very cosy little cafe with beach view.. a few very large swimming pools, etc. You can actually stay inside the compound for the entirety of your holiday in Pattaya, and not miss much. The rooms are a little worn down, but I think it is still value for money. The view here is just fantastic.
