We stayed for a single night after arriving w/o a reservation after the late panga to the island. It was the first place you will see after getting off the boat & walking to the winward side of the island. The guy at reception said they had a budget bungalow for $25. We agreed & after accepting the room, we went to pay. He then changed the price to $35. We were too tired & travel weary to argue & thought.. ..well we were tired & maybe we heard wrong. The next morning we asked to stay. The same guy said they had a different bungalow for the same price. Just come back in a couple of hours. After playing on the beach, we came back & were told that they had no room unless we wanted to pay $60 for a nicer bungalow. Since we already thought we were overcharged the first night, we took off. He did not apologize or try to make things right. We were indifferent. The $35 for the room is probably a bit high but acceptable for what you can get elsewhere on the island. The property is gorgeous & the breakfast was excellent. Maybe a bit pricey by comparison to elsewhere on the island but still reasonable.

We came to Little Corn Island mainly for Scuba diving and therefore soon found Casa Iguana (which also owns one of the 3 dive Shops "Dive Little corn"). However we still wanted to stay in a beautiful but affordable place and therefore did quite a bit of Research. Finally we still came back to Casa Iguana which turned out to be the perfect place for us on the Island! Our Little cabana (1 queen siue bed) was shaded by Palm trees with beach view, clean, comfortable and everything we needed.
In Addition the staff was friendly and the terrace of the main lodge is a beautiful spot to enjoy the evening and have one of those delicious happy hour rum Drinks :)

While it is not recommended to waste too much time in the Internet when you are on this beautiful Island it is still worth mentioning that casa Iguana is one of the view spots on the Island to provide wifi.

As the Island is pretty small you soon see all other places as well and even after seeing the other places we were only reassured that we made the right choice with casa Iguana!!

Iguana's was the perfect spot to call home while visiting LCI; basic bungalow overlooking the ocean with a deck and two hammocks to laze the day away, stay four nights and get a discount, also, the place was swept and tidied 7/10 days we were there, pretty nice for budget accommodation. The bed was comfortable and there was a pull out as well, easily would've accommodated four people. Shower is cold and on the outside of the house but it's the tropics so cold suited us just fine, indoor toilet with sink so no wandering in the dark to shared bathroom! Great main lodge overlooking the ocean with full kitchen, food was basic but good for breakfast and lunch, didn't try dinner. Make sure you get the always gracious and hospitable manager, Abner, to mix you the house special cocktail, a Basilito, they are as fantastic as he is! We will be back again in November!

When I paid US$65.00/night, much higher than the average rate in the island, I expected a comfortable bed and a very good service. I was aware that it was a cabaña with an outside shower, but the minimum I expected was a confortable bed to sleep well and a clean room for.
When we arrived, the cabaña was dirty, the toilet was filled with toilet paper and there was no water in the bathroom. The mattress was terrible. We could feel the springs against our ribs. On the morning, I felt like I was beaten all night. We stayed 3 nights and our cabaña wasn't cleaned at all, although I complaint several times at the reception and by email with the owner who wasn't there to verify the service. In the last night we asked to change the cabaña because we couldn't stay no more where we were.
I reserved this hotel without searching because a friend, who lived in the island 8 years ago, recommended it. I think at that time the hotel was good. I regret not searching carefully before.
The only point in favor is the location. There is a very beautiful view and the constant wind refresh the room as the temperature in the island is quite hot.

I stayed here for a week-long diving holiday on my own. Getting to Little Corn from NZ took so long but it really was worth it.
The accommodations are very simple (cabanas, with shared bathroom) but location and the beautiful setting make up for any lack of conveniences.
Would recommend this for being on the breezy side of the island, a obvious commitment to being eco-friendly and special mention to the great staff, esp the new manager David

Room Tip: I stayed in Cabana 2 which looked directly at the beach and also had the breeze all day

Stayed 5 nights and could not have asked for a better experience! 4 of us shared Gran Casita 2 w/queen bed & 2 futons. When we checked in the staff helped us unfold the futons, brought extra sheets, towels & bed nets (didn't end up using nets b/c the windows had screens - unusual for LCI). Cabins are essentially painted summer camp bunks. Plywood and exposed framing, but with tons of shelves, more than enough lights, outdoor shower, foot-wash faucet near the door and a porch w/2 hammocks & 2 chairs overlooking the cliff and water below. Towels and sheets were clean and not too worn. They came in to sweep up, change our linens and provide fresh towels at least once.

Had power in the casita all day except for one, when the power to the whole island went out. I guess the batteries they use to provide power during off hours (island usually turns power on before sunset and off before you wake up) could not recharge w/o island power. In-room electricity during the day is a perk that most other lodgings do not have.

Abner & Sasha, the 2 generally taking care of guests, were wonderful. Also, they both make really yummy rum drinks (happy hour daily). We were met at the dock by Abner and another staffer w/a cart for our bags. On our last day we were able to leave our bags in the lodge after check-out (9-10am) and they were delivered to the afternoon panga.

Location is within a 5- to 8-minute walk of Elsa's, Joanna's Full Moon Restaurant, Grace's Cool Spot, Carlito's, Rosa's, Restaurant El Bosque & Comidor Casona. Western center of town (dock, more restaurants) is a few minutes further, about 10-minutes. I recommend finding most of your meals elsewhere - they will be cheaper.

Little things made this place worth the extra few dollars. The grounds are immaculate, shady, breezy and breathtakingly beautiful. You can roam free to the pinapple farm, the various beach coves, etc. Free coffee at the lodge is a small detail but there's little better than sipping a cup on the deck and enjoying the view. Their tap water is drinkable!! This saves a surprising amount of money & time in bottle refills. Abner and other workers speak english & spanish. We saw interiors of cabins at Carlitos, Grace's and other east-side places and Casa Iguana's were clearly the most well-appointed and private. At all those other places bunks are right on top of one another. Even the fancy Little Corn Bungalows are closer together.

I've read many Casa Iguana reviews before & after our stay, and many make me wonder what people expect of LCI in general...The island is minimal on western comforts but is incredibly rewarding in other ways. If you want non-humid sleeping conditions, pristine bedding, no bugs, quick service or reliable electricity you might want to stay on Big Corn or mainland Nicaragua, or pay extra for the highest-end accomodations. LCI seemed to be about getting away from all that - living more simply, being close to nature and slowing down.

Room Tip: If you're more than 2 people or like to spread out, it may be worth the extra money for the Gran...

While prices seem utterly high, after my husband and I went around the island to look for other options, we realized that they are a mid-range hotel in the island where things are -obviously- more money compared to other parts of the country. We were expecting to have breakfast included, so that was a bit of a downer, though we do not think any mid-range hotel in the island includes it. Staff are great, and we found the cabaña clean and cozy, and the outdoor shower was a nice surprise.

Room Tip: On this side of the island there is more of a breeze that keeps you cool at night without the need o...
