The hotel Schloss Tangermünde is a gem. It is situated in a castle built AD 1699 by Prussian King Friedrich I. The castle is part of the magnificent fortifications of mediaeval hanseatic town Tangermünde in Sachsen-Anhalt. The hotel is set in a quiet location overlooking the Elbe River. All in Tangermünde is at walking distance.
The hotel has rooms in the main building with view of Elbe River in the Garden house and in the Queen Louise building in the adjacent street. Facilities encompass a beautiful spa with spacious indoor sauna, outdoor sauna, steam bath, showers, cold water bath, indoor pool and rest area. Wellness and beauty services are extra. Staffs are friendly, helpful and correct.
We had a comfortable yet relatively small room with private bathroom in the 18th century Queen Louise building in the street adjacent to the castle. Room and bathroom were impeccably clean. The room is nicely furnished and decorated, with good beds. Windows can be opened and have mosquito screens. The view from the hotel terrace is impressive. Free Wi-Fi Internet, no tea & coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast is outstanding.
Overall we had a wonderful time. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who seeks great comfort in a quiet environment at a high value for money ratio.
