Awesome location, cosy and warm, best view from a loo ever! just two of us staying so storage no problem. Can't recommend staying here enough. Just make sure you bring everything you need with you, definitely can't pop to a shop!

We stayed two nights in one of the cabins here and had a great time. The room had 2 bunk beds, private bathroom and self catering facilities.

Positives:
- Lovely compact cabin in a great location with brillaint views
- Good internet connection
- Friendly owner
- Amazing location, you have to visit the Iceberg Lake and go on the Zodiac tour! Glacier walk and walk to the Black Falls was also great!
- Very clean

Other:
- Not a problem for us but the self catering facilities would be quite small if you were planning to stay here more than a few nights (just a few hobs and a fridge)
- The cabin is very compact which I thought made it seem cozy and cute but I imagine it would be quite squashed with 4 adults in there!!!
- Small supermarket/restaurant about 15min drive away but not much else which was lovely as you felt you were in the middle of nowhere but I am glad we had food with us for the first night as we arrived late
- No storage which was fine for us as we lived out our suitcase anyway but again if you are staying longer it could be a problem!

We loved our stay in the little village of Hof. The cabins are great, free wifi, very comfortable and quiet. There's zero storage but we didn't care. Remember to bring some food, as the nearest service stations are quite poor with small range. The village is wonderful for a relaxing walk, my sons fed local horses at a farm. The village is 15 mins from Skaftafell park and about 25mins from Jokulsarlon, these cabins are highly recommended.

Surprisingly well insulated bright cabin. There is absolutely no storage cabinet of any kind. Because of the location I saw rainbows in the morning and evening from different location! It is quiet - watching sheep glazing as you drink coffee from window was very fun.
I brought grocery with me knowing this location is far from any town with shops - Vik and Hofn are few hours away. There seems to be a hotel few yards away. As far as price goes, I think this is higher side.... We paid for the linens and towels. We each got thin small bath towel, 1 old towel for shower floor, 1 to wash dishes and 1 to dry dishes - It will be nice to have at hand towels!
Mini kitchen will be OK if I have any counter space to prepare the food...
I think it will be way too small for 4. Curtains are too skimpy to adequately shield sun at night but black color helped. Over all, OK - could be much better.

Room Tip: There are only 3 units - unit #3 is next to creek and have excellent views of rainbows!

We stayed in hut no.1 for 3 nights towards the end of May. The location cannot be more magical. Every morniong we woke up with a great view in the front and the back. The hut is cosy for the two of us, but it could be a bit too small for 4 people. It has everything you need except a toaster.

It is very isolated but this is what we preferred. The shop in Shell is very small. You should stock up either in Vik or Hofn. But the included wifi was great, a 27Mps download!!!!!

Jokulsarlon was nice and the boat/car ride on the lake was great. Specially one of the iceburg broke up and made a great bang as we sailed by. There were some seals as well. However, we stumbled across Fjallsárlón. It is 28km to the east from Laekjarhus on the no 1 route. I think it may be smaller than Jokulsarlon, but the scenery was more beautiful. It is off a dirt track on the left as you travel east. Best of all, we had the whole lake and glacier all to ourselves.

Just as we thought things cannot get any better, a double-rainbow appeared in front of the hut. Truely magical.

We were so glad that we chose this cabin for our night near the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. It was the perfect location to take a quick drive there, first thing in the morning, allowing us to walk around the lagoon all by ourselves. The cabins were really nice--such a picturesque location…beautiful views, a babbling brook right outside our cabin, the old turf church nearby…we could not ask for more. Each cabin had parking right next to the entrance making it is easy to load things in and out of the car. Although not fancy, the cabin itself was cozy, well equipped, clean and plenty spacious enough for the two of us (might be a bit crowded with four). We do not normally select hotels with twin/single beds, but these were quite comfortable and we actually had a lot of fun sleeping in bunk beds...kids again for a night! We would definitely stay here again on our next trip.

Room Tip: There are three cabins. We were happy with our cabin because we could hear the brook right outside...

We stayed for 3 nights in our cabin and we loved it. It's plotted on the Hof farm, surrounded by sheep farms and a historic little church/graveyard. The cabins are a decent size with room for 4 to sleep (although it was just myself and my fiance) with a kitchenette, dining table, and bathroom. It was nice to have your own little space. Price was reasonable. Staff were friendly. The kitchenette was stocked with just about every appliance/utensil you could need except for a glaringly obvious missing toaster. Oh well. Our hot water for our shower was MIA our last day which wasn't enjoyable but otherwise no issues. It was a 15 min drive to the national park and 10 min drive to the gas station/restaurant. Half an hour back north and you could go take a look at Jokusarlon Lagoon. Would highly recommend this place!
