“Good but expensive”
Reviewed 23 August 2014

Traveled on business- stayed as a part of large group

Arrangements for drinks reception , dinner and all rooms were allocated in same building all were very nice and prompt

Restaurant- nice meal, excellent breakfast
Rooms - were ok, impersonal, very hot for 18degC Ac wont set below that :(
Bathroom- wash basin flat- most weird..stylish but not functional
Room service at 10Euro , vending machine had no water . reception was a walk away, so not so great on comfort

But the staff at reception were very warm and friendly

But the price is on higher side and so scores less on value

My girlfriend and I planned a weekend away to Den Bosch and also a visit to theme-park "De Efteling" in nearby Kaatsheuvel. As Den Bosch doesn't have that many hotels I settled on Van der Valk in Vught, a city very close to Den Bosch.

A day before going south, I remembered that it would be carnaval, which I completely forgot. Arriving at the hotel, it was clearly carnaval. The reception area was jampacked with people dressed in the most funny outfits I have seen. Despite the crowd, the check-in was quick and friendly.

The rooms at Van der Valk are normally quite large and this was the case for this stay as well. The room was clean, with a good sized bed. The bathroom was clean and had a seperate tub and shower. It was a little stuffy in the room, but you could open the windows, to let fresh air in.
While preparing to going out to dinner in Den Bosch, I noticed that the bathroom walls were very thin as we could hear the couple next-door enjoyin themselves in the tub (good to know they still liked each other :-0 ). So, if you're planning to do something in the bathroom, remember that your neighbour might hear you.

We chose to enjoy breakfast in the hotel and the buffet was more than sufficient with many fresh offerings.

If you are looking for a nice hotel near Den Bosch, the Van der Valk in Vught can be your choice. The only downside can be that its not near the city center.

Originally I was scheduled just to stay overnight but then had to add a meeting room to the experience. The staff were absolutely charming and very helpful especially in relation to the last minute addition to my needs. There were plenty of comfortable seating areas as well as well appointed meeting rooms. The meeting package "meal" was ideal and quickly served. The hotel had a slightly confusing layout which meant going up and down levels to get to the bedrooms but really a result of expansion over time. Interestingly, it seemed very popular with the locals which is not always the case for a hotel. The hotel bedroom was large and very comfortable with a well appointed bathroom including a bath!! An extensive breakfast was available.

For my second time in three years, I have spent two nights while taking part of a business seminar into this hotel.
Organisation wad really good, full of friendly people always ready to attend your needs.
Rooms are very comfortable, quite big and well decorated, with a lot of place for rest and also for working.
Free Internet wifi with good connection.
Fitness & gym center is simply perfect, full of equipment and personal trainer if necessary....the only problem is that they do not open until 8.00hs
Summarising, a very good option !!!

I received a free upgrade to the Delphi Suite. That is a really special wedding suite (see my photos, pictures say more than words in this case) - it is a spacious room with a huge round bathtub and Greek decor. Truly amazing! I would definitely recommend this room.

We didn't stay at the hotel, only stopped for lunch because it was sunny and they have a lovely terrace to eat outside.
The place is nice, but I ordered a prawn salad that was 12.50 euros and it arrived with 4 prawns on top of a bunch of sad leaves, without dressing or a tomato, nothing. :( Quite disappointing. My friends choices seemed to be better, but mine was the most expensive salad and I wouldn't call that a salad at all.
Water is quite expensive too, watch out if you're thirsty!
Staff was quite slow and not very friendly.

Big but good hotel. Stayed her 2 times. One time with family and other time with friends.
Both time was during winter. Big hotel, so the corridors are really cold, but the room was warm.
A big fan of the coziness of the room and sitting area downstairs, love the warm interior.
We had a problem with finding the main entrance, strangely this hotel doesn't really refer that this is the van der valk hotel. (Or maybe we couldn't find it because of the pile of snow.)
From room to restaurant/lobby takes a bit of walking. The staff downstairs is very friendly, but the staff you meet in the corridors don't know what creating each other means.
If you are here with good company, you will have a good time, otherwise you can feel a bit lost here.
The hotel was roughly 30 min (with public transport) from 'S Hertogenbosch.
