“The shangri-la of Suffolk!”
Reviewed 20 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

My husband and I booked The Granary cottage from 5-12 June 2016. I cannot put into words what a wonderful time we had. From the moment we arrived it was a magical experience. I think you would call it a picture book story type of experience. The cottage had roses growing around the door and as we entered Classic FM was playing. Fresh white roses were on the dining table with a welcome card. The place was spotlessly clean and tidy with exceptional quality objet d'arte and furniture. It was also home from home and somewhere where you can relax completely. Jo, the proprietor, is an exception. One of the nicest people you can ever meet and makes you feel so welcome. She is very informative about the area and where to go including interesting walks although I got lost in a barley field with my dog! The location is also centrally located for sightseeing around Suffolk as it is directly in the middle of the county. I cannot praise Jo enough and heartily recommend her cottages too much. Thank you Jo for a magical holiday. We will definitely be back.

“Simply Beautiful!”
Reviewed 14 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Enjoyed a fabulous week at Chaff cottage. Perfect in every detail. Delicious cake waiting for us on arrival. Pretty garden to enjoy eating outside with lovely lanterns in the trees ..like a real life fairy tale! Great place to get away from it all...a haven of peace and tranquility in the middle of the Suffolfk countryside with every modern convenience provided to ensure a super comfortable and relaxed stay. Short drive to lovely market town and super farm shop with pick your own strawberries , Can't say enough good things..definitely reccomended!

“A relaxing stay in high quality pet friendly cottage”
Reviewed 3 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We wanted to have our first holiday away with our puppy and didn't want to travel too far. We found the cottage online and booked it but really didn't know what to expect. When we arrived we were not disappointed. The cottage is fitted out to a high standard with a well equipped kitchen, living room area with blu ray player, a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. The location is quiet and secluded with plenty of footpaths close by to walk the dog. Equally it is well situated to explore inland Suffolk and the coastal areas. Thanks Johanne for a wonderful stay and the Victoria Sponge in the welcome pack was fantastic!

“Wish I had booked two weeks instead of one”
Reviewed 1 May 2013 for a stay in April 2013

Chaff Cottage is an excellent place for a couple to stay for a quiet break. The cottage is both traditional and modern, a fusion that doesn't often work but does here. Situated far enough away from main highways down winding lanes that you feel remote, without being that far away from local amenities in Stowmarket.

Suffolk is a beautiful part of the country and there are many things to see in the surrounding countryside, from Banham Zoo and the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary to the Britten Clam (by Maggi Hambling) at Aldeburgh, all tastes are catered for.

On arrival at Chaff Cottage we were pleasantly surprised to find a welcome package of some basic essentials, milk, bread and cheese, not fogetting the delicious cake. All of the products were locally sourced and did the county proud.

Would recommend this to anyone wanting to have relaxing break.

A beautiful cottage, in a quiet rural location. The decor of the cottage is of a very high standard. It is very clean and has everything you need for a relaxing break, including some welcome goodies from the local farm shop (very tasty).
We visited in Nov 2012, and again Mar 2013, and plan to go again in the summer.
We have already recommended this cottage to our family and friends.
