Description: The Bull at Bacton reopened on April 29th 2017 under new ownership of father and son, Duncan and Rory MacRae. Working with the youngest son as well, the family strive to create an atmosphere that will suit everyone and everything; from families, the locals or even the family dogs. The pub takes pride in providing locally sourced, freshly prepared meals ranging from traditional pub favourites to seasonal specials. We are looking to cater for all needs through three-course meals in the spacious and royal-feeling restaurant, good, refreshing beer, and happy faces, conveying the homely atmosphere that we are and will be looking for.

Back on the house hunting trail and having found somewhere we like we'd now like a good local. So a trip to The Bull. A bit beyond walking distance but close enough. We called in for Saturday lunch. It was quiet, very quiet. However, the large dining room was comfortable, the staff friendly and once at our table the menu was a good one. Straight in to mains we ordered a Rib Eye steak, burger and pan fried chicken with asparagus and tarragon sauce. All very nice but my wife was not bowled over by the steak - not the worst but not the best she has ever had. Contrary to other reviews we didn't think the price was a problem. Around £50 for 4 drinks (I had to have another pint of Southwold Bitter -lovely) and three good sized mains seemed ok. It didn't appear to be boil in a bag food, it tasted freshly cooked. We will be back. It is really better than average but not quite Very Good.........we need a "Good" score Tripadvisor.

Having lived in this area 10 years now this pub has had many problems indeed, so its good to see its open for food, funny times mind you! The ale is fab local ales and Aspal cyder an excellent choice as long as you don't want to stand up quickly!! We tried the food this time, a warm stilton & apricot chutney with chips & salad hubby had a burger chips & salad at £16 for the 2 not cheap at all, good food but doesn't warrant this hefty price tag? ! The salad was OK bit too much balsamic though please dressing is a dressing not an outfit. Lovely pub thats had love and care put into it alas need to sort out better pricing on food. Do love th Saturday Brunch idea though

Last minute decision to go out for dinner on a Thursday night and decided to try the Bull at Bacton for the first time. This is now our new favourite pub! Lovely warm welcome as soon as we walked in, very nice decor, good service and delicious food at a very fair price. Couldn't fault it and we plan to visit lots more!

was a regular until drink prices went up by 20p even though they didn't in the budget. Had booked as a party venue but cancelled as the increase happened a week before with no advanced warning of price increase.
We can not support our local if we cant afford the beer I thought free houses were meant to be cheaper than brewery owned pubs. The Greyhound at Botesdale, Bell Inn and Blue Boar walsham all 3.60 to 3.80 per pint The bull is 4.00 or over
