We stayed in the hot tub suite 11 which was lovely!
The roll top bath and hot tub really added that bit of luxury, the staff were all very friendly and the food was tasty and plentiful!

The free cake and chocolates in our room were also a nice touch.

The only small thing that could be improved was the shower room which could do with re-grouting/filling but not a big issue!

We would definitely stay again and i haven't hesitated to recommend to friends.

Thank's for a lovely stay!

Thank you so much for your lovely review! We are so pleased you enjoyed your visit.
We are currently in the throws of refurbishing all the Tempest area by area and our bathrooms are next on the list so hopefully on your next visit the grout will be tip top as they say!

Once again thank you and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

We never book here as we always enjoy sitting at the bar side rather then the restaurant. Tonight was a lot quieter than usual! Anyone would have thought football was on?!?

I hadn't got changed from walking the dog and mucking out the chickens. Don't worry though this is a perfect country pub. Wood burning fire, good food and good drinks, wellies and wagging tails are accepted!

They seem to have introduced doing a "special" cocktail every week / month. I'm a sucker for cocktails so anything with elderflower and champagne has my name wrote all over it! This weeks choice was a gin sink, which is gin, lemon grass, crushed ice, fresh grapefruit and lime! It was delicious but with a price tag of £4.99 I felt this was a little on the expensive side. Although it didn't touch the sides! Yummy!

We do know the portion sizes are huge here so we choose the ham, pie & scotch egg plank and the cheese and pate plank. Both were really tasty and surprisingly filling. Still managed a dessert though! Dam the meringue! My personal favourite and would highly recommend! They have changed the meringue this week it was pistachio and rose water flavour! To say our mains were surprisingly filling a scoffed the lot! However the other half succumbed to the sticky toffee pudding and couldn't manage to finish it.

Another great country pub meal in my wellies! PERFECT!

2 Mains, 2 Drinks & 2 Desserts £43.81

Ah.... thank you for your lovely review I remember you well and yes it was much quieter than usual! With Skipton Gala on and the England playing there best at football! We did seem somewhat slim for numbers!
Glad to say all is back to normal now! Once again thank you we are thrilled you had a great night! And one of our lovely cocktails too!
With all best wishes Team Tempest!

Stopped here on the way to Harrogate for lunch. It offers a very varied menu. We chose the homemade burger and the ham plank. Bothe meals were very tasty and the produce was of a very high quality. We will definately be returning. What a find! Delightful place.

Our 6th stay in 3 years and it was as good as ever. Hot tub Suite 13 was divine...lovely soft white robes, clean hot tub, huge comfy bed & all the little touches you could want including plastic champagne glasses for a hot tub toast! We bought some of our family with us this time to experience it as we are getting married here in December and they were suitably impressed with it all. Food especially the belly pork & veg soup was fantastic. You can tell how great this place is when you try and book a year&half in advance for your first anniversary and it's already booked!! Can't wait to return! X

This is our 3rd stay at the Tempest Arms over the past few years. It is a beautiful hotel set in the lovely countryside near to Skipton.
We booked 2 junior suites. It was a wedding present for our friends who had married the day before. The value for money is excellent. The staff & service are absolutely fabulous. The grounds & all rooms are all spotlessly clean.
We always like to have a cheese & pate board in our room on arrival & a few drinks at the bar in the afternoon. Its always very peaceful & relaxing.
We had a drive out to Skipton early evening & then came back for a meal in the restaurant.
The food is exceptional in taste & value. The portion sizes are huge & again the service is excellent.
In the morning we had a wonderful breakfast. There is a huge choice of cereals, juices, fruits etc & the breakfast menu had lots of local produce items to chose from.
Thank you to Martin & all the hardworking staff at the hotel & restaurant
I look forward to my next stay #mustbookearlyforhottubsuite

Stayed at the Tempest over the bank holiday weekend for the first time since Christmas and as usual everything was spot on.Arriving on the Sunday we were met by the ever friendly receptionist who was as helpful as ever ,staying in room 18 which has to be said is our favourite ,eating in the restaurant having top notch food again .On the Monday we were joined by our daughter & her partner who have eaten here before but never stayed, they too were very impressed by the warm welcome &standard of the rooms.all credit to everyone for making our 2 night stay as good as ever . Already looking forward to our next stay with friends in November .

We didn't stay in the hotel, although I'm sure it was lovely, we just had a meal on a Friday evening
They didn't have any room in the restaurant, now having been I could easily see why people flock here so I would definitely advise booking. Nonetheless we sat in the bar area and ordered our own food which was absolutely fine. We could put food and drinks on the same tab and it was all very easy. The staff were very very friendly, which I always find nice.
My mother had the fish cake, followed by the toad in the hole, which was absolutely huge. Delicious, she informed me, but somewhat substantial! I had the goats cheese starter, followed by the roast belly pork - again, absolutely divine.

The prices (of drinks and food) and perfectly reasonable, I would have no hesitation in booking to go here again tomorrow.
If I have one piece of advice, it would be to NOT fill up on the free breadboard that comes pre-starters like I did!!
