We recently stayed at the Tempest Arms for my husband's birthday......it was recommended by a friend. We were going to book a club room at the special rate of £55 for a friday but decided to splash out and book suite 13....which has a hot tub outside. Everything in the room was lovely from chocolates on the huge enormous bed, loads of fluffy towels, robes, fresh biscuits in a barrel (not in plastic wrappings) to a moveable flat screen tv (which you could watch in bed). The hot tub was spotless with music and lights and was always bubbling hot, we even sat in it and watched the sun come up on a cold January morning. We dined in the restaurant in the evening, the staff were on hand if we needed anything, the food was fresh, wholesome and tasty with lots of choices for even the discerning diner. We had a wonderful night away at the Tempest, it felt like we'd been away for days and will definately book again.

Beautiful rooms in the new build. freestanding bath very large shower and wall mounted large plasma TV. Rooms on the ground floor have small gardened area which overlooks a bubbling dales stream with sheep grazing in the field. idyllic even in November. Immaculately clean. Friendly staff let us have the room untill 1pm next day. Booking for evening meals essential at the weekend. very busy and excellent food. Thoroughly recommend. I loved the place and will definately be booking again.

we have stayed here once before and this time enjoyed one of their weekend packages. Roms are fab, Molton Brown, look brand new. the bar is cosy, nice open fires and a village pub feel. With great food both at dinner and breakfast. Well worth it and worth alot more than the " trendy" hotels out there.

We recently spent a night at the Tempest Arms, Elslack, North Yorkshire. Old coaching house with new extension on the back housing bedrooms. Bedrooms were standard hotel rooms - nothing special, but comfortable, well priced, quiet and reasonably priced . As we didnt intend to spend a long time in the room it was perfect for our requirements.

The pub is great - open fires, cosy and a brilliant atmosphere. However, if you stay here, you have to have dinner as the food was exceptional. Traditional British home cooked food which was perfect for a cold winters evening. Service was spot on - just the right amount of attention - and the dining environment was nice.

I would recommend this hotel as a nice overnight base when touring the Yorkshire Dales
