We recently returned from FDR Pebbles (7/1-7/6) and I wanted to compose this review while everything is still fresh in my mind. I have 2 boys ages 6 and 3.5.
Our nanny Tina was spectacular. She also has 2 boys, ages 5 and 4 months. The nanny is assigned to your family from 9:00am -4:40pm with an hour for lunch (12:30-1:30). If you take any off resort trips, the lunch can be rescheduled. Everyone on the resort was very friendly and helpful.
One thing that did make me uncomfortable was that the Tina was not allowed to dine with us in the restaurant. She would have to follow us to breakfast and sit with us to assist with the kids if necessary, but she was not allowed to eat or drink in the dining room with us.
Speaking of the dining room, the food in the OceanAir restaurant was horrible. Braised kidneys, livers and onions for breakfast. Even the eggs cooked to order tasted funny. I stuck to the foods I knew like a bagel, pb&j sandwichs, grilled cheese, etc... My self and my older son both got sick one night after eating at the restaurant. Luckily, was got over it once the dinner exited our system. I did hear other guests with similar types of complaints. The service in the restaurant was good even if the food isn't. The food at the grill (bar food) was decent, but the service could be a little slow.
The italian restaurant was most excellent on service and quality, but children aren't allowed so use the nanny.
The scuba was great. I was certified on this trip. The glistening waters excursion is great. The restaurant at the glistening waters is also not good, so plan to eat something else that night. Also bring your bathing suit on the trip as you will see everything that moves in the water glow at night.
The pirate cruise in Montego Bay was not worth the money. It costs $60 round trip for the cab. Then for 2 of us to snorkel, it was $100. The cashier was conveniently out of paper to run the credit card so we were out $160 cash for this excursion. You get 45 mintues of snokeling time and then 45 minutes at Margarittaville to order your lunch (more money).
The massage at the resort was great. Of course, they only accepted cash so again, we were caught a little short again not anticipating this vacation being such a cash cow.
