This hotel is in a great location! It is picturesque! I'm glad we chose to stay here and not San Juan! The staff there are extremely friendly and accommodating. A lot of people say resort food is high priced but we found it to be about the same price as eating out at other nice restaurants in the community. We found the food quality to be good too. As far as the hotel...the rooms need some TLC and repairs...they did not impress me as a hotel of this caliber should. We stayed near the hotel's marina so maybe those rooms are older?? Be prepared to walk which did not bother us but for someone with little kids be prepared. We liked the fact the hotel had its own island! It was amazing. Take some water shoes because the bottom of the water is not sand but broken coral. Take your own mask and snorkel and you will save money! (Especially if you plan on going to palomino island multiple days). Palomino island is a great place to snorkel and see sea life. We spent hours and hours snorkeling! It was great! Even though they say not to bring food and drinks to palomino, you can. We came prepared with refillable water bottles and snacks...so glad we did!

My husband and I were here recently for our honeymoon. While we absolutely loved our room's view and really enjoyed Palomino Island (wonderful!) we were a bit disappointed in the shape of the resort. Our room furniture/decor was dirty, chipped, stained, or falling apart. The pool deck tiles are cracking and are dirty/stained. It could definitely use a few facelifts. However, the atmosphere is great and we had a great time relaxing by the peaceful ocean for a few days! The grounds are gorgeous, the views are phenomenal, Palomino Island is awesome, and the staff was very friendly. This is why it gets 4 stars instead of 3! We enjoyed the concierge services - very helpful. We did find the food to be either overpriced or not that good - definitely take advantage of nearby restaurants (la estacion, las vistas, etc.) instead! We would definitely recommend the hotel or go back, but hope they'd do some updating in the meantime.

Room Tip: Las Brisas ocean view was great. Beautiful views & balcony make up for the dated room! We were o...

We thank you so much for choosing to stay at El Conquistador on your most recent vacation to Puerto Rico. We truly appreciate the feedback you have provided and know that your comments are read by all senior management. As a note, we are in the process of replacing all new furniture in the lobby, adding more to the Ultra Lounge, and replacing all carpets in the Brisas and Olas buildings. We are always looking for opportunities to improve the guest experience and amenities that we know you are expecting. So glad you plan to return....hope to see you soon!.

Tuesday night, quite an appetite and "in" for something great...
From the moment you enter the restaurant, you're completely seduced by the ambiance. Soft music, low lights, red english capitoné style furniture on a dark background with sensual images of women from the 60's, makes for a great combination between elegant, classic yet trendy and sexy. Without previous reservation, we were kindly accomodated by the nicest hostess ever (Grace). Manager (Wilson) were very kind to come to the table and ensure we had the best service possible... and yes we did!!! Experienced and knowledgeable professional (Jorge Nazario) took excelent care of us for an unforgetable dinning experience. After just a quick word he already knew how to please our palates and made excellent calls on wine pairings. His recomendations were surprisingly precise. We started with a traditional capresse salad, a rich and well balanced lobster bisquè and a delicate tuna tartare tower with a refreshing tropical mango/avocado chutney), followed by the infamous 20oz. Bone-In Ribeye which was grilled to perfection and for her, the Seafood Pasta (Papardelle pasta on a light yet very rich tomate cream with lobster mussels and scallops). Obviously, you can't leave without, at least, trying their decadent 24 layers chocolate cake and yes we did! It was amazing! It was so big we had to take it home and.... well yadda yadda yadda. Ha-ha!!!
So... ambiance is amazing, service is definitely at the highest level, the food is completely delicious and the portions are more than fair. Prices... well, great things doesn't come cheap but it was worth every penny. Would definitely recommend!
Try it, then you'll understand.

I'm a local. There is a camp called Tennis Summer School (which I attended)The camp goes from June 3th to July 5th (no weekends). After playing Tennis we go for two hours to the pool of El Conquistador since the camp is right there. On the first days I felt very bad for the tourists. There are two pools. One is occupied by the screaming and wailing kids of the camp. They started hitting the volleyball ball to the other pool and hitting people on the heads who are trying to enjoy there stay. Then this girl is screaming and and swinging the pool noodle around and hits a tourists in the head. We get out and start to change, I see this tourists going into the bathroom and her jaw drops open because when she opened the door to the bathroom it was completely flooded. The girls kept coming and going from the bathrooms with wet bathing suits. Besides all this the service seemed great, the hotel seemed great and luxurious, and it was indeed beautiful. I would only recommend staying here if you can support these kids. The camp goes from June 3th to July 5th (no weekends).

Thank you for your review. We are happy to see you participated in the private tennis camp. As a family friendly location it is not unusual to see children playing at the main pool which features the activity pool among our 7 resort pools. We are happy to see you enjoyed your overall experience.

This hotel was grand as expected of a luxury hotel. Tucked in amidst a rough looking neighborhood (we thought we got lost actually). But when we got there, driving a winding road you see the hotel at the top of a hill. Huge golf coarse too. You can self park with a shuttle or valet. We arrived to a busy lobby & it so happened several conventions were going on. There were shops, bars, & cafes. Oh there were parrots & one that kept greeting everyone "Ola!" Our room was amazing with a balcony & an ocean view, what more can you ask for? They even have their own island--Palomino Island. Have to ride their water taxi going to their island. Lots of water activities once you get there too--kayaking, sailing, jet skis, snorkeling, etc. Be sure to wear some water shoes that is if you don't mind the small stones everywhere even along the beach. It was a very peaceful relaxing atmosphere and the weather was so perfect except for the occasional showers. Overall my husband and I had a very pleasant stay. Staff were nice & accommodating too.

Good for a family vacation with children. You has to walk very much, but the facilities are good. The employees sre very friendly, and the Coqui Park is awesome. The hotel is so big that you need a map. The travel to Palomino Island is amazing. I will like to viisit this hotel again, hope the opportunity will come again. I will need to make some savings, because the prices are so expensive, but be aware for hotel packages for family vacations. That's was my secret.

Room Tip: Roms in the Olas building is good, but La Marina is better.
