Comfortable and clean room. We had a good cooked breakfast and the hosts, Korey and Anita, are friendly and show great hospitality. Korey and Anita took over this b&b only recentely and they are doing a great job!

We had a flying visit to Aoraki Lodge and can only agree with all the great things already said about this b&b. My only regret is that we didn't have much time here and had to miss the pre-dinner drinks due to a pre-booked visit to the Mount John observatory. This was our first trip to NZ and having the opportunity to stay in places like this with such lovely hosts really makes us want to come back for more. So, maybe next time we can stay longer and have that drink...!

I would suggest it would be hard to find a more welcoming and comfortable place to stay in Twizel than Aoraki Lodge. As we walked through the garden gate we were greeted by Sandy who, with her husband, Ian, are the perfect hosts. As with other guests we were invited to have a pre dinner drink with them and thoroughly enjoyed sharing stories. They are genuinely interested in where we had been and where we were going leaving us feeling as if we had been the only people who had been given this attention. Breakfast is spectacular and you are encouraged to chat to the the other guests by Sandy's request for everyone to introduce themselves to each other - makes for a great conversation over breakfast even when the guests don't all speak the same language. Great place to stay and great hosts looking after you

If you need to stay in Twizel, stay here rather than in one of the faceless motels. We only stayed one night but Ian and Sandy treated us like long lost friends, inviting us for a pre-dinner drink with the other guests. The room was nothing fancy but clean and with an excellent shower.

Sandy and Ian operate an excellent B&B. From the moment we walked into their garden we knew we had booked a special place. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and well appointed. We particularly enjoyed the glass of wine prior to dinner - this enabled us to get to know the other guests staying at the B&B. Sandy booked our dinner at a local restaurant and all the guests went together. A great way to meet other travellers and 'pick their brains' with destinations. Having met the guests the night beforehand, breakfast was relaxed and we ended up getting our maps out and discussing routes we had taken and alternative destination points. Aoraki Lodge was a true highlight of our trip and we strongly recommend a visit to Sandy & Ian's piece of heaven.

Room Tip: All rooms are perfect

Due to a bad storm washing out the West coast highway we had to re-route our trip and ended up in Twizel. Seemed there was very little accomodation available until the Tourist Information office found us a room at this place. We certainly landed on our feet! Lovely room, beautiful bathroom / shower room and superb breakfast. Nothing was too much travel for our hosts. Full of information about Mount Cook and the walking routes.

Room Tip: Even if only a twin is available take it! The beds can easily be shunted together and you get a bri...

It was our pleasure to host you both especially with the difficulty you experienced due to the bad weather on the West Coast.

We felt like the proverbial “port in a storm” and are delighted that you found our Lodge through our local Information Centre and enjoyed the experience of Aoraki Lodge Twizel.

Thank you also for the Room Tip on the twin beds!

Regards Ian and Sandy
