At first, we were a bit reluctant to try this place as we've never been big fans of Indian food, but given we arrived in Wanaka about 9 in the evening after such a long drive from the West Coast, and didn't have much options, we decided to give it a go.
The owner kindly squeezed us in past 9:30 in the evening, when there were only 2 groups of people in the restaurant, and we were not rushed out until we finished our meal and wine. This for Sydney standards is very rare.
The place itself is very different from the traditonal Indian restaurant, very modern and we were given a good table close to the fireplace.
Wine list is very good, and we were suggested a nice local Pinot Noir which matched very well with the food. We had a yellow fish curry, that was absolutely fantastic. I think this dish converted us from non indian-food eaters to indian-food lovers.
I will definitely go back when visit Wanaka again and highly recommend this place.
