The staff at Wyndham Wanaka were super helpful from the moment I called to book till we left!
Hotel sites had no more rooms to offer but the desk attendant made sure we had the room we wanted.
At arrival everyone was so helpful in making sure we made the most of our time in Wanaka.
The room was great, kitchen fully equipped, super clean, heated floors :)
Kids had a ball at spa and sauna after skiing.
Highly recommend.

Room Tip: We had room right in front of reception and it was still quiet and lovely

This was a great choice to stay at. A big, clean, modern holiday complex in one of the most beautiful areas in this world. The best king bed in a carpeted super warm room. Despite minus temperatures outside we were warm as toast. Didn’t even need to use the electric blankets provided. Good supply of coffee/tea and sugar in our kitchenette including wash up detergent. A big enough room to entertain ( as we did with friends each night )Ample parking at the door. Plenty of clean towels, bath mats, soap, T/paper, shampoo and conditioner. Would suit a family staying here. The rooms are not serviced, but to drop your rubbish in the bin as you exited each day wasn’t a setback. There was a swimming pool, but a little too cold during our stay to use. Would be brilliant in the summer months. Check in was easy, the staff were obliging and the room had good views. Note though that the town centre is 6 minutes away by car so wheels are recommended. There is a supermarket close by and there is a limited menu in the resort for sale-pizzas etc. A bar also which is very convenient. Wanaka and surrounds have enough to entertain you for a week, sublime scenery, less crowded than Queenstown. Amazing restaurants and shopping and good drives and walks. Highly recommended to do a day tour from Wanaka flying to Milford Sound from Wanaka Airport. Couldn’t fault this Resort as a middle of the road option to stay. Quiet and very clean. We’ll be back.

My wife and I have stayed here at least 7 times over the past 8 years, starting before it became a Wyndham South Pacific property. It has slowly and consistently improved over that time, to become a jewel in the crown.

Why? because Wanaka itself has come on in leaps and bounds, and the whole of this region of the world just rocks! And we are oldies who only come here in late spring to early autumn, avoiding the snow bunnies, but that's when the walks are at their best! The Matukituki Valley, Rob Roy Glacier, Mt Aspiring Hut, Roy's Peak - Magic! And if you want to tour, Queenstown over the Crown Range (oo, ah) or via Cromwell with its historic village, the Karawau Gorge etc, or Alexandra down past the huge dam and on to Dunedin, all beckon. We have never as yet made "Warbirds Over Wanaka", but one day!

The Mt Aspiring Resort is compact, and we always go for a deluxe unit, one bedroom or more. In Dec, squiring young teenage grandchildren, we went for a 2 B/R Presedential which promised to be nice, but ongoing rennovations spoiled it a bit. Then in March, we hosted a good US mate to THE 4 B/R Presedential! What could one say? Magnificent!

The rooms and facilities are spotlessly maintained, the pool and spa are popular as are the communal BBQ facilities. (The 4 B/R Presedential has its own, on veranda :-)

Well, I guess that shows we like it, and we will be back again within the next 6 months.

Room Tip: Book early go for at least 1 B/R Deluxe and suggest they should provide free wifi.

This was our first time in Wanaka. The hotel is about a 5 min drive to the town centre. You will need a car to get to town. The room is spacious for a short stay. Note that there is no service to the room and the rubbish does not get removed. Towels feel old and thin and could use a change.

We had a room at the ground level which offers no privacy when curtains are open.

Staff is friendly but they do try to push sell of the resort.

Room Tip: Rooms in the top floor and nicer and probably a little bit more private.

From the moment I entered the staff could not have been more helpful. I needed to add an extra day at busy season and they managed to sort a room quickly and efficiently. Rooms are comfortable and warm. The barman deserves extra praise for being extremely witty and helpful. They serve a great thin crust Pizza at the bar.
However... the entire stay was poisoned by a $20 daily fee for wifi which works on a 'use it or lose it' basis. Why don't hotels get how annoying it is for guests to be ripped off by these transparently rapacious fees?
Two days later I stayed at the Edgewater Resort in Wanaka. Complimentary Wifi! It's as no brainer as to where I will book next time.

Room Tip: Ask for a room looking out on the Lake.

Location is very close to city Centre- less than 5 mins drive, 20 mins to cardrona ski field very convenient! Also not far from treble cone.
The rooms are modern but the room I stayed in - 213 requires the bed and pillows updated. Other than that, this was my 2nd time there and always enjoyed it!
I recommend it to short or long stay.

We flew to New Zealand then Australia last March and April for a holiday and to visit 'relies'.
Our choice of places to stay in southern New Zealand was Wyndham Asia Pacific Wanaka.
To get to Wanaka, we flew into Queenstown, rented a car (fire engine red Suzuki Swift…a great little car), and drove about an hour north of the airport to Wanaka.
We arrived mid-day and checked into our 2 bedroom apartment. Our view off the deck was over the parking lot, so we asked if we could be moved to another room? The friendly / helpful desk staff were able to change our suite to one at the back looking into lawn shrubbery and trees…much much more pleasant and to our liking! Our unit had two bedrooms (one with sliding glass doors to a little patio), a fully equipped kitchen, a dinning room and living room (with large flat screen tv) and a large deck with nice outdoor furniture. A 'very' nice modern unit throughout!
Enjoyed our stay at Wanaka and our accommodations at Wyndham.
The staff were very friendly and helpful with WiFi (which you had to pay for???), excursions, info about the area, bike rentals, even one of the bar tenders had a Canadian father.
Wyndham in Wanaka New Zealand is a great place to stay when visiting. Wanaka is an 'adventure town' for sure! We enjoyed the scenery, a 4 hour jet-boat trip up the river west of Wanaka thru film locations for 'Lord of the Rings' movies, mountain bike ride around the lake, St. Patrick's Day with the locals in the Irish Pub downtown, shopping, sight seeing the area!
New Zealand! A 'wonderful' place!

Room Tip: Try to get a room looking over the pool (if you like being in the middle of the action), or one in t...
