“Spacious, comfortable room at a good price.”

We booked via their homepage after seeing good reviews from the Tripadvisor. Stayed two nights in the Minaret room. The lodge is a 2 minute drive from the town centre. surrounded by hills. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. There was free unlimited Wifi which was important to us. Recommended!

We stayed here for one night after driving from Christchurch. On arrival, we were greeted by Michelle in the office, who was very friendly and provided information about the town and nearby nature walks.

When she showed us to our room we were very surprised at how spacious it was. It had a modern bathroom of a nice size, and a large bedroom/loungeroom suitable for a house which was overlooking a beautiful and meticulously kept garden including a view of some nearby mountains.

After settling in/showering etc, the host Michelle knocked on our door to offer us some freshly baked shortbread (!). This quickly gave us the impression that the hosts go above and beyond to make you feel welcome.

We slept well and the bed was very comfortable, but we accidentally left the windows wide open and some mosquitoes got in the room - this was entirely my own fault, though something to be aware of for other guests.

In the morning we joined the hosts (and some other guests) for breakfast, in which they were kind enough to cook us eggs on toast and offer us some fresh fruit, cereal and muesli. They were friendly and easy to get along with, and it wasn't at all awkward. They even accommodated another guest who asked for bacon with his eggs - which wasn't offered - and which we found quite amusing. During breakfast we mentioned we were in Wanaka to be married and then spend our honeymoon travelling around NZ, which we hadn't mentioned earlier. On checking out the host gave us a small gift to wish us all the best for our wedding which was very nice and unexpected.

I can see why this place is rated so highly on tripadvisor - if we were able to re-book our stay in Wanaka, we would have stayed here longer and shortened our subsequent stay at Edgewater Resort.

I highly recommend staying here if you're coming to Wanaka.

We stayed for just one night and wished we were staying much longer! The Alpine View lodge is just magnificent in every possible way. I cannot recommend it enough. Firstly, Michelle (our host) was so welcoming and friendly, and very knowledgable about the area and NZ. We were thrilled to have been generously offered a room upgrade from a studio-like room to a split-level apartment style room, with STUNNING alpine and countryside views. What a lovely surprise this was! Our room had large windows and glass doors, allowing lots of natural light and fresh air. The deck with outdoor furniture was the perfect accompaniment to the room and the landscape surrounding it. We sat out there and watched the sun go down over the alpines. A beautiful, clean bathroom with a big bath. A self-contained kitchenette. Comfortable bed. Wonderful room styling. Breakfast was delicious. Michelle offered not only cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit salad and toast with spreads, tea and coffee, but also our choice of eggs (poached, scrambled, fried) on toast.
Once again, I cannot recommend this enough! We will be returning again one day :) Until then, we will carry such fond memories. Definitely a highlight for us. Thank you Michelle!

We chose to stay at Alpine View Lodge having read all the positive reviews on TA and this proved to be spot on! Our split level studio (Cardrona) overlooked a field with sheep grazing and a backdrop of fantastic scenery. Everywhere was beautifully clean and well equipped. The private outside decked area was an added bonus. Plenty of variety at breakfast - juices ,cereal ,toast etc and Michele will even knock you up an egg or two if you so wish! Michele and Craig are a warm and friendly couple and although we only stayed one night we really enjoyed every aspect of our stay here and were sorry to have to leave. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending a stay at Alpine View lodge!

Room Tip: A splendid view is available from the Cardrona studio.

Wanaka township is beautiful, surrounded by mountains and lakes. This accommodation is the gem within it. Every detail is covered by the hosts - we stayed in the very comfortable spilt level studio which is extensively equipped, is furnished to a very high standard and has many added touches to add to the comfort of your stay (ie use of spa pool on premises, own BBQ, torch, DVD, TV, radio, outside private balcony, plenty of space for hanging clothes, fully equipped kitchen, easy nearby parking, ramp for easy access with heavy suitcases into accommodation, air con etc). The views from the studio are stunning and the big (opening) windows and patio doors allow full enjoyment of this from both inside and out - and privacy enabled when you want it by the curtains. The hosts are very very welcoming and the ideal couple to run accommodation such as this. Nothing is too much trouble and good advice and tips for eating and hiking routes provided. Don't miss the rocky mount walk at diamond lake for good views.....and if you are feeling energetic Roy's peak is also an excellent uphill hike. Breakfast is included and is absolutely fantastic - the location is unrivalled, a beautiful spacious table looking out over the breathtaking view of the mountains, and the variety of food offered (both continental and cooked). This is the best place we have stayed in either north or South Island (and one of the best so far on our travels around the world) and I very highly recommend it.

Absolute perfection, we stayed in the split level studio which is beautifully furnished and offers stunning views with a lovely private sun deck with table and chairs. Michele and Craig are the loveliest hosts you could wish to meet who made our stay fantastic in every way. Great breakfasts filled us up for some fantastic hiking nearby. Wanaka is beautiful and this is the place to stay in wanaka. 10/10 in every aspect. Thanks for a brilliant stay and we will definitely return. Highly recommended so book well ahead to secure your stay here.

Super clean and modern! Michelle and Craig were very friendly and helpful hosts. Our interactions with them added to the already perfect stay. Excellent location...5-10 drive into center of town/lake but with a remote feeling due to the pristine vast natural surroundings around the home (see the attached pics). The breakfast was delicious and the views from the dining room were spectacular. The room was well stocked with high quality tea, coffee and even spa level bathroom product. We were very happy with our stay and will recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in Wanaka.
