“Special location special stay”

Tiritiri lodge is a magical spot with an excellent level of service amazing food and fantastic location. Steph and Denis go all out to make your stay as good as it can could be. The spa is especially good after a hard day at the mountains.

This is a charming property with owners with interesting and sophisticated tastes and backgrounds. Conversation is easy, hosts are friendly, and food is divine. Their daughter is the resident chef and prepares exquisite evening meals and breakfasts. They ask if you have any food sensitivities or adversities, which is very nice.

The rooms were nice and well appointed. More than likely, though, you are here to look at the surrounding areas...and they are GORGEOUS. It isn't precisely on the lake, but is on a hill where the lake can be seen. The grounds are well kept and well manicured. The lake is a short walk (about 5 minutes). The surrounding community is quiet and we never saw another car while we were there. Parking is obviously free and on-site. Wifi is available. The toiletries are from a manufacturer in New Zealand called Linden Leaves, and are available for purchase online in the US. The Rosemary shampoo smells amazing and the fig licorice lotion is moisturizing without creating an oily feeling.

You can opt to have as much or as little interaction with your hosts as you please. We spent a great deal of our time in the nearby city (about 3 miles to city center) and exploring the surrounding areas. The hosts are VERY good about arranging excursions for you and went well beyond expectations. At the time there were no other guests there, so I cannot comment on any noise coming from other surrounding suites, but would take the one outlying negative comment here with a grain of salt, as it appears there may have been communication barriers that prevented them from enjoying their stay. At any rate, it is a place I would return to in a moment.

We got here by flying into Queenstown and renting a car and driving to the lodge. The drive there is scenic and spectacular. You'll definitely want to plan to make multiple stops along the way in nice weather for photographs!

Room Tip: When a second floor room is available you might request it, the views may be superior to first floor...

This Lodge has it all. Friendly people, outstanding food ( actually better than outstanding), comfortable beds, great location, fabulous views. The spaces for guests are large, tasteful and thoughtful. The lodge was designed for beauty and comfort. Stefanie and Denis are generous with everything, truly gifted in hospitality. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

This is the kind of place you'd like to live in. It is a fairly intimate experience - if you like to be completely independent it isn't for you. But the hosts are friendly but not overbearing - in short, they get it right.

Very stylish accommodations: modern, spotless and comfortable. Drinks and canapes and breakfast included; dinner is extra. We didn't eat here, as my husband has some dietary restrictions, but next time we will with notice. We were given excellent recommendations for dining in town.

My only criticism, and it's minor, is that you're in suburbia. The other lodges we stayed in were more remote, and that's what we prefer. Mind you, it's very nice suburbia, and once you close the door it doesn't matter, but if this were located 5km up the road it would be completely fantastic.

We would definitely go back.

Lovely modern lodge located out in the residential area of Wanaka. Stephanie and Denis the owners welcomed us warmly and greeted us with cake, wine and beer. We also had the dinner which was excellently prepared and cooked by Tiff. Rooms had fantastic views and beds where lovely and comfortable. Would highly recommend, especially having the dinner with matching NZ wines. Breakfast and the pre dinner canapes where also excellent.

Tiritiri Lodge is an absolute gem of a place to stay. Dennis, Steph and Tiff are wonderful hosts and I received a very warm welcome accompanied by a lovely cold beer and cake! The Lodge has been stunningly and thoughtfully designed and my room had the most extraordinary view across Wanaka lake. Tiff is a great cook, so opt for an evening meal with them if you can - in fact, insist on an evening meal during your stay! This place is classy and a haven of tranquility. I hugely enjoyed the hospitality and generosity of the owners, who couldn't have been more helpful or entertaining. Don't bother going anywhere else in Wanaka!

Tiritiri Lodge is a beautiful and warm place, and is the most wonderful lodge we've ever stayed. We were appreciated with the warm welcoming of Stephanie, Denis and lovely Frankie, and surprised by Tiffany's food which was really amazing. The room was comfortable and had very beautiful views. We should stay more days next time.
