I travelled to Zanzibar & stayed at Langi Langi Beach resort for 4 nights with 3 of my girlfriends. The bungalows themselves are beautiful, clean, comfortable & have nice touches like flowers on the bed each morning. We Stayed in an ocean view room which had fabulous views onto the turquoise waters. The hotel owner(?) & chef Sally was exceptional- helpful & lovely-even personally baked a bday cake for my friend.

However- unfortunately the elderly reception manager (Basan or Hasan?) made the experience disappointing- why he is in customer service I donot know-in fact it made my friends and I feel like we had gone on holidays withour cranky, strict, rude, judgemental old grandfather. He made us feel like we were behaving inappropriately though we werent and in fact refused to give us our own room key (which we had paid for) one evening upon return from a bar!!

Lovely place but disappointing reception staff- Beware if you do not like being looked down upon by a grandfather figure.

When you have a sea facing room, you do not only have a beautiful view but you can also hear the sea at night - much more than you would get at other Nungwi hotels where the rooms are set further back. The hotel is also well positioned along the beach - close to lots of beach bars and other restaurants. While we did not see the garden rooms, the setting away from the sea is also lovely.

We chose not to do an "all-inclusive" deal at another place as we enjoy finding different places to eat. However, we ended up eating at LangiLangi every night - the menu was interesting, the food good and well priced, and we could take our own wine/beer. This seems to be the only restaurant that allows that and we found a bottle store that sold a good range of wines at about half the price that restaurants sell them at.

The owner, Sele, runs a good establishment - he is interesting and engaging and keen to please his guests. We requested a change in our room as we wanted a higher room with a better view (the sea facing rooms on the ground level are a bit small and dark) - he went out of his way to offer us a really great room once some guests left.

We were on Zanzibar during Ramadan which meant that the restaurant at LangiLangi is closed after 10am until 7pm but the other restaurant are open so it did not pose a problem for us and when we arrived at lunchtime and requested a few beers, our request was met once it had been cleared with Sele.

The pool is in a lovely setting if you wish to swim there rather than going into the sea from the steps of the LAngiLangi restuarant. We found the free access to the internet in the restaurant very convenient. We were also able to booked our snorkeling trip through Sele.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at LangiLangi and if we were to return to Nungwi, it would be unlikely that we would stay anywhere else.

Five of my friends and I traveled to Zanzibar after volunteering in Tanzania and this was a welcoming, great place to stay. We stayed for about a week and never had a bad day. If you stay here, take some time to talk to the owner/chef, Saley, who will be happy to give you advice on where to go and what to do. The staff is happy to arrange transportation for you to Stonetown or the airport. The only two drawbacks I would mention is that at high tide, the water is very high (there is no beach at this time and you can't walk to the other hotels and bars on the beach), and if you need a hairdryer, there is a $50 deposit. The hotel allows you to bring your own alcohol (they serve wine and beer at the restaurant). Each room we stayed in housed three women very comfortably and the view from the balcony was amazing. Happy and safe travels!

We have just returned from Zanzibar and were really pleased with the hotel. We were going to stay at the Hilton but so glad we didn't as it is more expensive and there is a lot of seaweed on the beach which is unsightly. When the tide is low the beach at langi langi is lovely and when it is high it is is a 2 minute walk to the next beach.

The food was excellent! My partner can be a fussy eater but even he loved the food! We also tried the Z hotel for food but didn't think it was as good value for money as Langi Langi so ate at the hotel for the rest of our stay.

Sele, the manager really makes you feel welcome and if you have any issues he goes out of his way to sort them out.

This hotel really is great value for money.

My wife and I spent 5 wonderful nights at Langilangi beach bungalows. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean and very comfortable. The service was exemplary.

Langilangi Beach Bungalows is set amongst lush tropical gardens with a big swimming pool. Best of all you're less than 2 minutes walk to the beach.

I would throughly recommedn staying at Langilangi :)
