We spent seven days in Breezes and everything went well! The peolple are very friendly and atentious, well educated and very professional.
The hotel is very confortable, well decorated in a very simple but hippiechic and cosy way.Very clean!

The beach, the indian ocean, the reefs, the Nature around...well, a piece of heaven on earth!hope everyone preserve this place, because we will surely want to visit it more often!
Love it!

Just come back from a six night stay at Breezes after a safari in Uganda.

We arrived after 11pm and fully expected to have missed dinner. However, we were delighted when Zoltan, a member of the management team, told us that some sandwiches had been prepared and put in our room for us. A nice touch and much appreciated.

As others have said, the resort is clean, well maintained and specious. The beach is wonderful, with sand like soft powder. The pool is large and never over-crowded.

The place has style and the Zanzibari furnishings give it a middle eastern feel.

There is always something happening each evening (in a tasteful and not tacky way) - such as local musicians, Swahili dancing on the beach by firelight, etc.

Overall, a great place to stay.

Room Tip: We had room 3, which is right on the beach. The higher the room number, the further towards the back...

We spent eight nights at The Breezes Beach Club & Spa, mid-August 2014, on the recommendation of Audley Travel, in the family “villa” with our two teenagers. Whilst at the back of the resort, the villa was huge with two very large bedrooms with fantastically comfortable beds (which reminded us we need to change our bed at home), both with en-suite and an equally large “lounge” complete with TV which we hardly used. Having said that, the location and view was no worse than any of the other standard or deluxe suites behind the front row that look onto the sea.

Trips out could be arranged independently but we choose to use the hotel for convenience. The Stone Town trip was fantastic with the very knowledgeable KP showing us the sights/sites. We wished we could have stayed in the town longer – perhaps we should have gone back on our own and lost ourselves in the very safe back streets. The trip to the local village was a real eye-opener and a must for any cossetted teenagers to show them what life is really like for a lot of people. Again a great guide and it was good to see how much assistance the local hotels offer in terms of funding clinics, etc. The disappointing trip was to Jozani forest – a fairly disinterested local guide rushed us around and sent us off on our way when it started to rain. As a consequence we saw hardly any of the much lauded monkeys or got the real feel of a rain forest.

Back at the Breezes, most days were spent by the pool when not “tripping” (well we do have teenagers in tow) with occasional walks along the beach. Considering the number of rooms (70 which means at least 140 people), the pool hardly ever had more than a few people in it and we always found loungers in the shade. The waiters were always attentive and sometimes we had lunch at the pool, sometimes at the bar by the pool.

Evening meals were a challenge with two fussy teeanagers, and even for us. It alternated between set meals with two choices of main (sometimes the second choice being the vegetarian option) on one night and buffets on the next. The buffet evenings were great – large choice and you could keep going up for the bits you liked. The set meal evenings were sometimes just two faux-posh – well cooked and presented, just not to everyone’s taste. If there is one recommendation I would make to Breezes, it is to make a buffet available every evening or at least widen the choice of the set meals.

A tip – if the food gets just too much for children, ask for the children’s menu. The portions are huge and more suited to some young western palates.

In summary, a great week with good food, relaxation, swimming and attentive and friendly staff.

Room Tip: Family suites (only 2) are right at the back but worth it.

Stayed here for 9 nights in June. The property is located about an hour from Stone Town on a gorgeous beach. Rooms are fairly simple but comfy and clean and the air conditioning is very effective. The resort is well laid out - it never felt crowded - and looks well maintained. We found the food offering very tasty and enjoyable, which is just as well, as the resort is quite isolated and there is nowhere else to go without recourse to a fairly long taxi ride. The staff at all levels are marvellous and helpful and we really enjoyed our time there

Breezes is perfect for those who seek secluded relaxation. If you are in Zanzibar to see the place (stone town etc) then it's a hike ANYwhere out of Breezes. The resort is pretty far from the airport and once you're there, be prepared to NOT get out of the property so you can make the most of the resort area. All the rooms are lovely (only a few are ocean facing, so be sure to ask before you book), interiors are nice, and the food is very good, there's a lot of variety. Of course, as with every seaside resort the drinks are expensive, so be prepared for an additional tab on drinks. And they charge for water so that's an add-on. We went to the Blue Lagoon to snorkel and it was amazing, the underwater wildlife is thriving. We also went to stone town for a half day trip and got some lovely souveniers. The staff is helpful esp Azziz. The wifi is exorbitant, and only available around the reception area.

We stayed here for a week after our busy safari in Tanzania so we were looking forward to have rest and simple relax. This hotel was perfect for this purpose. We had a superior room which was nicely large with a pleasant balcony. The air conditioning was working well, and the housekeeping was super. The meals are excellent, altering between buffet and served for dinners and each evening you receive a different selection of food. The breakfast is always the same buffet, but there is a big choice so you well not get bored with it. The beach and the seashore is breathtaking, beautiful white sand for miles, palms, warm sea and gentle wind all the time. The pool is nicely warm. Although there are quite many people staying there in the same time, you are never disturbed by loudly noise, there is far enough space on the resort to accommodate all guests without feeling overcrowded. The staff is very friendly and nice. Caffe and tea can be prepared in the room for free. The worst thing is that there is no free wifi at all, we had it in all our lodges in Tanzania except this one. You have to pay 10 dollars for 24 hours or 5 dollars for 12 hours, but even this paid wifi is very unstable and sometimes very weak. Also the breakfast is served only till 9:30, which means that you should be there latest by 9:00, which is not very pleasant if you are on vacation and would like to sleep longer. You can go for different activities, it is worth to make a trip to Stonetown and also do snorkelling among the corals. Overall this is a great place and I would highly recommend it for even a week long stay.

Room Tip: Go for a superior room (or a suite if you can afford). Standard rooms are located at the back of the...

Like others we opted to end our fantastic safari experience in TZA with some beach time and R&R. We stayed 3 nights and then one more night in Stone Town and wished we had spent at least one less night here as Stone Town has so much more to offer. The facility is beautiful, immaculate and the beach (at high tide) is soft white sand, and the service impeccable. The room descriptions are somewhat misleading as very few deluxe rooms are ocean front or even have an ocean view. Our "deluxe" room was in the back of the property and faced nicely landscaped paths or other rooms. Having said that, our room was large, comfortable, very well appointed with the requisite mosquito netting (needed) and patio; the bathroom was cramped in comparison. Also beware that if you have anything other than a suite and the hotel is full, you will have someone on top of you and the floors are stone/tile so you will hear every footstep. We also were unpleasantly surprised that just about everything was extra, water, wi fi, snorkel, etc., etc. The food was mainly buffets, varied and good; when the cuisine switched to arabic/indian, it was excellent.
Overall, we could not shake the feeling we were in a somewhat artificial compound. If you want a secluded beautiful beach setting to just relax and retire early, this is the place. If you are looking for more, I would recommend a beachfront hotel in Stone Town.

Room Tip: Go for a suite - top floor, views, more of a breeze/fewer mosquitos

Thank you for taking the time to post a review and we really appreciate your extremely positive comments about the food, room, cleanliness, decor and beach and most importantly the service of our dedicated staff.

We know that guest feedback is important and we appreciate the opportunity to address the issue of all inclusive

We can appreciate that Table water would be expected to be included in Europe or America where tap water is potable. However, in this instance, we are talking about chilled, bottled water sourced from mainland Tanzania or Stone Town Zanzibar. As in any restaurant or Hotel that is not all inclusive, bottled water is charged for and we do not believe that it is expected to be free.

It is very unfortunate that you were under the impression that drinks or water sports would be included during your stay as we are not an all-inclusive hotel.

Nevertheless we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay overall and hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again.
