“The surfer' s beach!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2014

Paje would be the place for surfers. Although the beach has few decent accommodation places and is home to the wild full moon parties, it is quite remote and off the beaten track. Great for surfing , not so great for peace and quiet!

“Tourist trap, try Michamvi Kae.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2014

I stayed with a couple of friends at Michamvi Kae and visited a group at Paje for dinner. Great to see them all but geeze the beach is a death trap, full of kitesurfers buzzing around so good luck trying to enjoy a nice swim.
The fact that you have to run a gauntlet full of little shops set up selling stuff to tourist kinda gives it away.

Awesome beach, with lots of coconuts trees and turquoise blue seawater. You can easily find starfish, crabs and colorful fish. A real paradise for relax and .

“Paje Beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

An absolute woth while trip. Yes it is a bit off the beaten track, but that is why it is such a beautiful and stunning beach and area. Please make an effort and visit this strech of the country. The surrounding village is friendly and easy going with mild mannered fishermen and the local restaurants and hotels are all stunning.

Perhaps better to take a taxi but beware of the outrages costs as a vehicle hire are often half the price. The local retaurants "The Rock and Upendo" are next to each other and makes for great food and excellent photo moments that will last a lifetime.

Vehicle Hire from Kibabu Car Hire. very affordable and excellent service in a country where poverty is adament amongst the population. Beware of the local police whom are all on the take for bribes, but after a long discussion and keeping it friendly expect to pay about 15 thousand shillings and be on your way.

Paje and the surrounds are a must on your Zanzibar to-do list.
