“An amazing view from our balcony”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

We stayed in the room next to the dining room, which I think was the best as far as the view of Ella Gap. It was wonderful to sit back and soak in the view from our balcony. The sunrise was fantastic! The bathroom was big and everything did function and we had good hot water.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had to pre-order our meals which ended up being beautiful and tasty, with some great flavours.
The walk down to Ella only took 15 minutes, but better to get a tuktuk back up as quite steep.
overall a great experience as you are up high above Ella with a view that the places in the town don't offer.

Room Tip: The room next to the dining area has the best view of the valley

We stayed here one night in room 6. The views are spectacular and all the staff very friendly and helpful. There was a mosquito net in the room and we weren't bothered with any other wildlife. The meal cooked in the evening for us was really good and very reasonable , breakfast was just an omelette and fruit- standard Sri Lankan fare. In summary this was a very reasonable place to stay and good value.

Stayed here for one night and I was glad it was only for one night. Staff here were very kind, we had a curry here and it was tasty and I ordered a fruit platter and this was the only place in Sri Lanka in which they mixed all the fruit with sugar therefore I did not finish the platter. Room was spacious and very glad for the mosquito net however I feel that the net could have a wash. The balcony was amazing and the view from our room was breathe taking however the en suite was the let down. It felt very outdated and bugs were in our bathroom, and the shower did not have hot water. Also the night we stayed it was quite cold and our room was freezing (room 5) and the duvet provided in the room did not provide sufficient heat and I was cold the whole night. Breakfast was ok, and wifi did not reach our room. The room was clean and I know it is in the hills therefore bugs are inevitable but I just feel that so much more could be done for the rooms.

Our stay was for one night. Our clean room contained a queen-sized "Princess" bed with mosquito net. The ensuite was drab. Frogs come free!

The view from the balcony and restaurant is gorgeous, overlooking Ella and out to Little Adam's Peak. The immediate surrounds and gardens are equally beautiful. Friendly staff and a range of meals on offer made our stay most enjoyable.

Well we walked into this room and went WOW the view amazing quite took our breath away. The room was very private and we could sit up in bed and soak up the view, when the lightening and thunder started it was just awesome. The netting over the bed was great to keep the moths out from coming to the bedside lamps. We woke to a fabulous sunrise right down the gap to the ocean very stunning. The room is very spacious, clean, plenty of hot water what more could you ask for. Wifi operates best in the dining area which was a shame so an extra modem would make a huge difference so you can have internet access from your room, not sure why they turn the wifi off at ten at night and turn it back on 7am the next day. All the staff were just great and couldnt do enough for you, always smiling and happy to please. This would be a top place to regenerate your batteries after a long day. There is a restaurant here and the breakfast is good. You do definitely need a car when staying here as it is way up on the hill, you can see Little adams peek and Ella hill from the dining room.

Room Tip: The room across from the dining area is great.

We stayed here for a night and we got the best room with an amazing view. We could not feed our eyes with it. For dinner we had a very nice food and service. In the night we went out and they told for us they will close reception at 9:30pm so we can go around it with a little climb. So if they do not tell us maybe we have a same problem like the previus reviewer at stay outside. We walked to the city and back which took like one hour incluiding with a little stay in the city. We did not have any bags just one gecko on the wall but it was cute and one cat was coming in to our room but very tame. In the morning we woke up at 5:45 to see sunrise at 6am behind the mountains. Beautiful! Order Sri Lankan breakfast night before otherwise you get only eggs and they do not offered for us or just forgot.
