Nice small guesthouse, friendly owner and staff, personal atmosphere, good food - but nothing much to do in Ella except for the 30 min walk up Little Adams Peak. Like most other people we came here due to the train, and continued towards Yala Nat'l Park. If you stay overnight in Ella, then this place is certainly one of the better locations because of its views. The hotel will soon be getting three more new rooms.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a room with a good view

This place had the most beautiful views of Sri Lanka we saw on the whole trip. Our balcony view was amazing, and we couldn't get enough of it. The room was large and clean, and the food was very good. My birthday was the morning of our stay, and my husband had conspired with Bhathiya, our guide, to surprise me. The restaurant was decorated with balloons and flowers, and the whole staff sang "Happy Birthday" to me, complete with cake and candles. There were no amenities such as a tv, but who needs one with views like these.

Simple, clean guesthouse type accommodation, amazing view of the waterfalls. The owner was really friendly and looked after us well - the rice & curry for dinner was amazing and very varied on both nights.
Our driver took us here, so there is accommodation available if you're being driven. Recommend the walk along the train tracks to the waterfall and up little Adams peak.

Not sure why so many people rated this place so highly, but this was the worse out of our stays in Sri Lanka. This was booked with our tour, so we didn't have a choice. The only thing good about this place is the view, but I'm sure there are others with the same view. When we arrived there was no greeting and no checkin process. The room is shabby, with no amenities, no tv, just some shabby towels. The shower gave us spurts of cold water every few minutes. At night, the bugs tend to crawl in through the tiny gap of the patio door. Flies, moths, ticks (?), etc, We had to sleep with the provided mosquito net. The food is ok, we've had better. The location is also not in walking distance to the city. Free wifi was intermittent. I wouldn't come here again.

Great location and comfortable rooms. Wifi is almost non existent, but not surprising considering the location. It's a bit out of town, not walking distance, so you'll need wheels. Nice and quiet location
