Allthough its a bit pricey (2000lkr) the cooking class is excellent! You get to make several curries, and everything is explained very well. The good is delicious. Thumbs up!!

We did a class in the morning with the family. 2000 rps per person. First go through the garden and then cook. It's more a demonstration then that you have to do everything yourself. It's in an outside covered place and that's all you need. Really great to see how it is made. After the class you eat and that was really good. They also sell all the spices you need to reproduces all. Really recommendable. mom & Son are really friendly

We three mature Australian Ladies did a cooking school one morning recently at the Ella Spice Garden, after being shown through the neat and comprehensive spice garden. It was good to see how the various spices, which we later used in our cooking, grew. The school was held in an outdoor kitchen and the two brothers demonstrated cooking Sri Lankan food, from grinding coconut to the finished product, which we then ate, sitting in their family dining room. The food was delicious and so was the experience - we all throughly enjoyed ourselves. We are now waiting for them to email us the recipes, so we can try them out on our friends at home. Hope they come soon!

Great place to learn the secrets to Sri lankan curries, the family is so lovely, and it's a fabulous way to spend a night in Ella ! Make sure you're hungry, the food is delicious and theres lots of it ! We took a couple of cold beers to enjoy with the meal, Highly recommended.

A really great place and a must visit if you are in Ella. The Spice Garden itself is not much (yet) but the cooking class was really a great experience. The two brothers were good cooks, and we had much fun during the cooking of the big Sri Lankan feast. I will highly recommend this for friends, couples or even people traveling with children. It is learning and enjoyable for all.
