We stayed at 98 Acres Resort for 2 night and had a wonderful experience. The rooms are great, well designed with comfy bed facing the most spectacular view through Ella Gap. The bathroom was great too and the shower was very hot and powerful. We had dinner here both nights, although the meals were small they were an excellent quality and the chef spoke to us after our meal and offered to make whatever meals we wanted! We had carrot cakes for desert, which were fantastic. The view from the restaurant is quite spectacular and on an evening you can watch the fireflies in the surrounding trees.

The location is slightly out of Ella, we walked in one afternoon and it took about 30 minutes. However, in the evening you need to get a tuk tuk to go into the village.

The service was good, the waiters always remembered which room we were in. The TV was broken when we arrived and within 5 minutes of complaining at reception someone came to our room and fixed our problem.

The only negative point was the pool. It was very dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned for quite a while. I'm not sure if this was because it was low season but we still expected a clean pool to swim in.

Although quite expensive for Ella, this resort was well worth the money for the beautiful rooms, views and great service.

Me and my wife chose 98 Acres a s a gift to a newly married couple who accompanied us to 98 acres resort. It's a masterpiece of wooden architecture which closely adhere with untouched nature. The views of the mountains dip in clouds make you the feeling that you are above the heaven.
The staff is friendly & the food is delicious. But could be improved by increasing the quantity & varieties of set menus for the guests who are on HB or FB basis.
If you are seeking modern comfort, sophisticated amenities with rounded edges 98 is not the best place to visit. But for a nature lover who needs a discrete hide out from busy life with above average comfort 98 is the best !!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: try to reserve a upstairs room if you are going to deluxe category. Only 3 of the deluxe rooms conta...

It was a great stay. Food was also good but choices are less. The staff was friendly but not that much efficient. Anyhow, we have enjoyed a lot. The location is great to make the stay romantic and to be relaxed. The design of the restaurant was marvellous.

Room Tip: The best room is 101 as there are two balconies to get a nice view.

i traveled with a group of 10 ( family and friends) Location is out of this world. staff is very friendly and service excellent. only negative i see is food. they should pay more attention to the quality, variety. we had rice and curry for one meal and portion size of side dishes was v small. we requested to re fill our chicken dishes but we hardly got anything. this is something not expected from a Boutique Hotel of this kind. other than that it was good and they were very flexible when i wanted to change the food which was ordered. rooms would have been cleaned better, we experienced dust in corners and wooded floor should be polished more frequently. i strongly recommend this place and i am definitely going to go again

Room Tip: all rooms have a spectacular view, deluxe rooms and bigger and have large balcony in lower floor.

It was my wife who came up with the idea of spending a day or two at this new joint called "98 Acres" at Ella, about 15km from Bandarawela!
Few snaps of it justified her choice, so we drove for about 3.5 hrs from Kandy to reach Ella just before 1pm!
The road was bit ragged but the site of hills/tea plantation/flowers on our way made us unaware of it!!!
'98 Acres' ella was something outta the blue.. 'cos u never expect it to be there in the first place. There are like 10-15 Cabana like houses/cottages facing the hills and we got room 105!
Room is just amazing..One with the nature..A wash basin made out of stone...a stone-carved water way which replaces a taps...a shower area surrounded by rock slabs..on top of that Spacious room which opens up towards the hills just as u open the curtains! and wooden floor..Amazing!!!!
Staff is so friendly and make u feel as if u are dinning at ur personal chalet! They are so concerned even about the slightest of hiccup! Food is good..got the chance to taste some amazing dishes..esp. the dessert! Chef truly got wonderful taste buds!
Both of us can't forget Mr.Kamal..THE WAITER!!! His young fella is so full of energy, enthusiasm and smiles..i believe he just adds more marks to the curricular-vitae of 98 Acres!
Just after a meal, there is this nice open-area where u can relax n stare at the view for hours!
As with few tips to improve the places...first of all u guys need to advertise this hotel more..cos this will make u billionaires:)))) n need to employ few more staff..'cos we noticed the room service to be not that efficient, may be due to the lack of staff!!! a regular room check ups for clean curtains n other linen would be very nice!
All in all, we had A WONDERFUL TIME AT 98 ACRES, ELLA!!!! HI 5 MAN!!!:))))
Trust me, u wont regret a single penny u spend on this hotel if are looking for a quality outing!!! Cheers!

Room Tip: Room 105!!! (Our room..:D..) Go for a Super delux... There is no big difference between different ro...

A haven for pure relaxation nestled amidst island’s lushest peaks! The hotel stands proud on a 98 acre tea estate and is a concourse for romantics and nature lovers. Architecture of the hotel is chic, yet modest and blends perfectly with its surroundings made up of luscious mountains, bright blue skies and narrow winding pathways. Peace and prosperity dwell high in this place, making it the perfect retreat to just hole-in with a loved one or spend a quiet relaxing holiday with friends & family. Come armed with plenty of novels as the peaceful getaway gives itself well to the ones who love to engorge in books. If you’re in for some adventure, theirs is ample landscape for trekking and exploring. Hotel provides bicycles and you could peddle along peacefully down the quiet, narrow lanes leading to nowhere. The Chalets are romantically tucked in within the leveled landscape with plenty of distance from each other making it ideal for couples and even families to enjoy a peaceful holiday.
The scenery was mesmerizing from where I sat at the restaurant and the delicious gourmet dishes adequately complement the dining experience. The Chef puts up an amazing play with the main dishes and the desserts religiously follow suit. Do take the opportunity to take a dip in the pool by the restaurant which is charming and inviting.
Although I’ve got to admit that I didn’t have the privilege of staying at the hotel, I will definitely be back for more of the pampering and tranquility this amazing hideout has to offer.

Relaxing holiday. The resort is on top of a hill surrounded by tea plantations. The rooms overlook a valley. The view from the rooms is simply breathtaking. Service is also excellent. Lots of activities to do at Ella, especially if you are a nature lover and like to hike.
