We only stopped over here on a road trip to the south, hotel staff were friendly (and open at 1am for checkin!) and the place is very clean. The bed was massive and bathroom ideal. The only thing preventing 5 stars is the breakfast; it wasn't amazing but equally not terrible!! Will probably use again

We enjoyed our one night stay at this trendy hotel. Room was good nice bathroom, small balcony overlooking the pool. Kettle, tea coffee, toiletries supplied. Breakfast was fine. Great size car park with a café and the restaurant at the front of the car park was fine for lunch. There is a fresh food market to your right and further along there was a very popular restaurant in the evening. Across the road and again to your right was the Farang bar and restaurant which served cold beers and food. We would happily stay here again when visiting Chumphon.

Staff were excellent on our arrival, helpful, friendly and of course smiling. Rooms were good, comfortable bed, great shower.....but please change those pillows - concrete painted white!!

We only stopped off enroute to the islands from Bangkok, if I came this way again I would certainly use the A-Te. I wouldn't stop in Chumphon for anything else though.

Pool looked good, but we didn't have time to use it, and breakfast was fine.

All in all, very friendly and great value.

This is a relatively new hotel, with modern furniture and bathrooms. However, it is rather grubby in areas. On arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff and were helped with our luggage. We were shown to our room, where we checked it was ok, and I asked if the base of the toilet and behind the tap could be cleaned as both areas were really dirty - no problem, the cleaner came within a few minutes and it was done. There were many other areas that needed a good clean, ie. doors, door frames, walls, corners, curtains, etc., but I wasn't there to make a cleaning rota for them!! Cleanliness on the surface was ok though, and it really wasn't filthy, bedding, towels, etc., looked like new and were fresh and clean and the hotel didn't make me cringe.
The room was nice, big and airy, and was equipped with bathrobes, tea, coffee, mini-bar, and plenty of towels and could easily compete with some four star hotels in Germany.
The corridors and lift in the hotel needed a good detailed clean - (walls, door frames, handles, corners) and were reminiscent of a motel, not a nice hotel, actually letting the place down.
The pool area was lovely, big towels by the pool and lovely comfy sun-loungers. The only thing I didn't like was the white grating for the drainage bordering the pool as it's a rather dated method and doesn't look attractive, although it's actually pretty new. It was very quiet there, so lovely to sit outside in the evening and relax, although we were woken at 5.30 in the morning by a lovely cockerel that decided it was time for everyone to be awake!
Breakfast was really poor. A little selection of salad, some hot Thai breakfast, toast, jam, tea, coffee, and a lady to cook eggs. I ordered an omelette - it was ok, and had some toast. For the price it was absolutely ok, but as the guests were mainly western I expected there to be at least a choice of continental breakfast.
The breakfast area also needed a good clean, and it would be helpful if the person cleaning the glass on the tables used a spray that didn't leave huge smears and looked at the dirt he was supposed to be cleaning instead of watching the tv that was blaring across the room.
The hotel is situated right next to the night market, but in all honesty, it's not a particularly nice night market, it stank and was dirtier than most I've been to during our 3 month stay in Thailand so far.
There is a restaurant on the corner, but the food wasn't especially good, so if you see something else try there instead.
I would stay here again if I had to stay in Chumphon, but I think I'd rather just try and avoid the place altogether. Shame about the lack of detailed cleanliness because the style, furnishings and appearance could easily make this 4*.

Our Stay at the hotel was pleasant. We only stayed one night before taking the ferry to Koh Tao. The staff was attentive to our requests. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. We only had breakfast there, it is varied and ok without being exceptional. It has a nice swimming pool and a nice massage parlour. We loved the Santa Panda outside reception
