Recently returned from a fabulous holiday at the Hill View. The Apartment / Restaurant is a family run business with a first class service. I really do feel I have found a "Holiday Gem"
Apartments: Excellent accommodation. We booked A6 (apartment and C1 (studio). A6 being a 1 bedroom apartment and C1 a studio with interconnecting door to A6 for our 18 yr old son.
Bathrooms were spotless: Clean towels everyday and toilet roll replenished too. Great walk-in shower in both A6 and C1.
Lounge area: A6 was spacious with spectacular balcony view across the bay and pool. Balcony view from C1 was the same (beautiful). Both rooms had kitchen facilities with a kettle, toaster, microwave and hob/oven (although we ate out most nights) the option to eat in your apartment was there.
Bedroom A6: Nice firm king-size bed, air con, great storage, safe and hairdryer. Patio doors to the balcony with great views.
Bedroom C1 studio: Again, great king-size bed, air con and lots of storage. Patio doors to the balcony with great views.
Restaurant: AMAZING!!!!! George cooks the most amazing food. In my opinion, the presentation and quality of food is the best in Pissouri Village. Staff were polite and friendly and provided a wonderful restaurant experience. We ate in the restaurant several nights. Sunday lunch is great and I would recommend making a reservation in advance. We had breakfast one morning and again this is wonderful. Fresh fruit, cheese, olives, raisins and lovely bread and toast. George also made us scrambled eggs on toast. Lots of fresh coffee too.
Pool area and grounds: So peaceful considering we were there July/Aug. No problem a getting a sun lounger and pool towels are also provided. Pool and grounds cleaned daily.
Hill View is an absolute gem of a place. It has won several Trip Advisor Awards and this is a true testament to the owners and their team. Thank you for a wonderful holiday. We will be back.
Pissouri Square: The square is a 5 min walk from the Hill View with nice taverna's and restaurants. There is also a local supermarket in the square and a bank. The square is very quaint with lots of side-streets with beautiful original Cypriot homes.
Eating out: We ate at several different restaurants/tavernas situated in the square:
Two Friends Taverna: We thought the portions were very small, albeit the food was tasty we were disappointed with the quantity.
Stalas Grill Bar: This place doesn't look much and most of the eating takes place outside on the side-street with vehicles passing you by as you eat your meal - don't be put off by this, we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The food is mostly kebab orientated although the Mousaka did look nice. We had chicken kebab and salad which was nice.
Vrakas Taverna: Very tasty food and good service. Would definitely recommend this place.
Panda Chinese Restaurant/Take-away: We had a night in the apartment and ordered a takeaway from the Panda Chinese Restaurant. It was very tasky and the portion sizes generous. Didn't eat in the restaurant, but would recommend a takeaway.
Bunch of Grapes: I loved this place. The out-door eating is so picturesque and quaint. Fantastic service and lovely food. Would recommend the Bunch of Grapes.
The Hideaway Restaurant: Beautiful place with lots of locally grown produce entwinned in the restaurant itself - geat food (on par with the Bunch of Grapes). Would recommend this place.
Da Costa Pizza: Italian restaurant just along the side street from the Hideaway. Nice roof top restaurant. Great for pizza and pasta.
Captains Bay: This restaurant is at Pissouri Bay and they do a lovely Spag Bol (huge portions).
Beaches: We hired a car and travelled to some lovely beaches not too far from Pissouri Village.
Melandra Beach: Head towards Pissouri Bay and you will see the sign for Melandra Beach / Restaurant. Bed and Parasol hire 2 Euro each. Very quiet and not commercial. Fab little taverna specialising in locally caught fish. We spent several days at Melandra Beach.
Avdimou Beach: Quite a quiet beach with two taverna's. One is owned by the Intercontinetal Hotel and guests from Aphrodite Hills frequent this place. The other taverna is locally run. You can hire beds etc but it is quite expensive. You can walk from Melandra beach to Avdimou beach. I preferred Melandra.
Overall, our holiday at Hill View was splendid. The restaurant at Hill View was by far the best in Pissouri and I would recommend anyone visiting Pissouri to book a table at the Hill View - you won't be disappointed. Fantastic holiday accommodation with excellent staff. Our best self-catering holiday to date.
Thank you George and Nikos.
