We were at the CBR end of February and had a relaxing time. The resort has an impressive hall with a two level high atrium. When we arrived only one person was in that hall. The receptionist. She greeted us friendly and asked us to have a seat. We were given a welcome drink and could do the paperwork in lounge chairs. The first room they assigned us did not have a view at all so we asked and in an instant got one level higher with a very nice view over the giant swimming pool and very close to the main building. The room was one of the largest we ever had. From the door to the balcony you had to do 12 large steps. Also it had a extra high ceiling. From the balcony we had a nice sea and bay view.

The whole complex has a very solid feel. It is made from local stone and wood. You will not find any plastic or Styrofoam. Heavy doors and thick walls keep you away from noisy neighbours. At pre-season not all their restaurants and bars are open. But since the resort is connected to the adjacent hotel with the same name you can use their venues as well. Room charge is no problem. The resort spa is outstanding with a stunning indoor pool, 2 squash courts, sauna and steam room, a hot tub and a decent size gym with a good selection of modern work out equipment. Besides the giant outdoor pool are plenty of lounge chairs also on the lowest level next to the beach. The beach itself is gravel and sand, not particularily nice or well kept. Parts of the board walk are already washed away by the sea. Maybe the do the cleanup in season. We enjoyed to walk Pissouri bay with its natural setting. From one end to the other it takes about 20-30 minutes depending on your walking speed.

In the neighborhood you find also a handful of tavernas as additional dining options. They are half price of the hotel cost and widely used by the guests. Two of them we found very good. Limanaki and Yialos. See our separate reports. Pissouri village is in taxi range (9,5 Euros) but in our season almost every place was closed.

Service people are mostly from Bulgaria or Romania with some locals all speaking very well English and are friendly. Guests are Brits in the majority and Germans. Very few Italians and French. A few young families but most are 70 or older. Saturday evening there was wedding of local Cyprus people. Very civilized. No noise at all. We had booked room and breakfast only what is the better way as their dinner is very formal expensive. Much more fun in the tavernas around. We don´t know how it is in high season. Definitely even more expensive, But we had 20 Celcius on 3 of your five days. Lots of sunshine too the other days. So overall it was a pleasant week.

We loved the fact this hotel was away from the main strip of hotels in Paphos, but we did hire a car to we could easily see the island. This quiet location was beautiful, within its own bay, with its own beach, but I guess the downside for some would be that you have to drive everywhere as there isn't anything within walking distance.

Having said that the hotel is so beautiful, in wonderful grounds, with a large grassy garden leading down to the beach. We loved the little chapel in the garden. Food in the main restaurant is of an extremely high standard, however expensive, so make sure you book half or full board! Even on buffet nights (1-2 a week) the quality and choice was excellent, with a lovely intimate atmosphere and occasional live music.

The room was huge. The king bed was in a little alcove and the children slept on a sofa bed in the lounge area, so we all had our own space. Our room was hill view not pool view, which we found perfect - the pool area isn't huge, so pool view rooms aren't as private. The other great thing about the room was a little fridge, cupboard and sink (a mini kitchen) tastefully hidden away in a cupboard - great for drinks for young children!

I had a great massage in the spa, and they were happy about children using the indoor spa pool too. I even went to 2 yoga classes for free, which were so relaxing.

The only downside is that the outdoor breakfast area is pretty small (and everyone wants to eat outside in the sunshine especially when we went in April) so it got quite packed during the Easter holiday period, with tables close together. Don't let that put you off though, this really is an amazing place!

For the first time I booked a hotel on ba.com at the same time as a flight. This hotel came up as first and cheapest choice for half board. What a surprise!! The hotel is not as nice as the resort, but still a very comfortable place, rooms were good size, dinner very very good and breakfast too was delicious. The bay is beautiful and all rooms have a sea view balcony. Staff were kind and helpful. It is quite a drive from both Larnaca and Nicosia, but well worth the drive. I would surely recommend this hotel for any length of stay.

We thank you for your comments.
Unfortunately, you must have just missed the Sailor Kids club being open as it closed just after the festive season. It is open during the Easter, Summer, and Christmas holidays. The sauna and steam bath are part of the private area of the Columbia Spa, which is adults only, however the pool area is open to children accompanied by adults. Pissouri bay is a partly shingle beach and though we do clear a sandy area, this is done in Springtime, as the beach is not used as often in December and January due to the weather.

What a gem!
My family and I have just returned home from spending the New Year in the Columbia Beach Hotel. What can I say, the staff were so very friendly, not one member of staff showed us anything less than top quality 'service with a smile'
The check in was done so calmly and efficiently. The room was spotlessly clean, with a beautifully clean bathroom, equip t with top quality named toiletries, that were replenished daily. There was no shortage of 'fluff'y thick white towels which were changed daily. The balcony had good quality furniture for use and even though the room was classed as a side sea view, we had good views of the sea.
The meals were of exceptional standard and the service from the restaurant staff was second to none.
The location of this hotel may not be everyone's choice. Pissouri is only a small resort that is split into two areas, the bay (where the hotel lies) which has a handful of restaurants and the village, where you will find the majority of the bars and restaurants, which is only 3km away however it is a long 3km climb up a steep and winding road and in some places there is no causeway (a car would be your best option).
Staying in Pissouri is an ideal location to be close to Paphos or Limassol and if you enjoy a game of golf then you are close to three of Cyprus's world class golf courses.
And as a parting shot my young son would like to tell everyone that it was so nice that he wants to live there........

I stayed here in early November with my wife, and we are still remembering our stay here months later.
The best feature is the architecture. Instead of being just another plush hi-rise hotel, this one tries to be sensitive to local building traditions, and blends in harmoniously with the setting rather than clashing. From the lobby, there is an huge organic pool that seems to flow down into the ocean, and the rooms are villa-style with entrances facing either inside towards the pool or outside towards the surrounding gardents. Absolutely beautiful. The indoor fitness and wellness area was too. The staff for the most part were very helpful and service-oriented, and seemed eager to accomodate special requests. One rather unusual request we had took two days to fulfill, but the manager apologized and comped us a bottle of bubbly and a fruit tray.

The breakfast was great. The dinner was less so. Ours was included as part of a package, but if we had to go a-la-carte, I think we would have passed. The "gourment" restaurant had good presentation and service, but the taste was average - didn't seem to match the promise of the visual impact. The "normal" restaurant between the pool and the beach was very good quality, but not better than nearby restaurants that cost about a third less.

The beach left mixed feelings. The location was stunning, but the beach itself was pretty small - only about 20 chairs would fit, and you have to watch out for cat "business" in the sand, which is a drawback of the resort's "cat refuge" policy. The hotel needs a better beach to truly be called a beach resort.

The rooms were spacious and functional, but otherwise only moderatly above-average. The real charms of this place are outside.

During the off-season, when we were there, the valus was spot-on. We looked at the high-season prices though, and don't think we'd go for those.

First the niggle.......lets get it out of the way.
I hate piped music. I dont know how typical of travelers I am in this.
And at CBR piped music is constant and ubiquitous.
Being December it was piped Christmas music...personally I am quite prepared to take Sir Paul's words for it that he is having a simply wonderful Christmas time...or Mr Lennon assuring us that war is over if we want it., ........and most of the music was far far worse..Please can someone ask guests if piped music adds to their enjoyment ?

Having said that, this is a wonderful resort. Superb food from top class chefs, wonderful service. We had a room with sea view and it was excellent..The location is grand.
We have stayed in some good hotels and this is among the best. For food, service, and quality of rooms I would place it alongside Rajvilas in Jaipur and that is high praise indeed.
We were there in low season of course so we are unable to comment on the situation re children commented on above..
