“Lovely area, mediocre hotel”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

We stayed at this B and B for 2 nights from 2 July 2014. We loved the location, which was a short walk across the pedestrian bridge to the charming historic town of Figeac.
What we did not like was the difficulty in finding the place. I have read numerous similar complaints from other visitors and I thought that by now the owners would have organised clear signage outside. We also had difficulty getting in once we finally found it. The gate was locked and we shouted through the fence to another guest who was on the terrace. She then fetched a staff member who the told us what the gate security code was. The room was small and clean but walls were paper thin.

Old looking Chambre D'Hote at No 6 Ave Jean Jaures but beware, it's half a mile from No5!! Owner wasn't there when we tried to get in, but after a phone call he arrived declaring that he was "desole" to keep us waiting. The house is beautiful & the rooms very sympathetically decorated but with lovely modern bathrooms. Breakfast was lovely, owner very friendly. Great one night stay.

Very friendly, very clean, great location, easy 2 minute walk to the centre of Figeac. We loved this place, the only fault was the bathroom. The shower was open to the bedroom, not a problem for us, but maybe for the more modest. The hosts were extremely friendly, nice quiet location, but very easy walk to the centre, even for my husband who is disabled

While we have have been visitors to Périgord for many years, we decided to make a brief visit to Figeac as part of our holidays this year. We discovered Les Pratges through Trip Advisor following some successful Chambres d'Hôtes recommendations in other regions. This time we were delighted with our choice in Figeac. Following some comments in other reviews about difficulty finding the house, I did some research on Google Maps & it all looked familiar when we arrived on a beautifully sunny Friday afternoon in August. There is lots of parking in a free public car-park adjacent to to the house. Our room was bright & clean, with a nice shower area and overlooked the swimming pool. The pool was a delightful treat on such a warm day & there was just one other family using it at the time. We took the short walk over the pedestrian bridge to Figeac centre which has some lovely old streets, buildings & museums. We ate in Le Patio that night & dined in their indoor/outdoor section which was wonderful, and the food was excellent. Breakfast at Le Pratges was very French with fresh baguette, croissants, juice, preserves, coffee & a selection of teas. We also met the owner at this time who was full of useful information & recommendations on the town. He also had an intimate knowledge of our native Dublin! A visit to the Saturday morning market in Figeac and lots of local produce for dinner back in Dordogne that evening rounded off a brief but wonderful visit, and very happy memories of Les Pratges. We will certainly be back!

Great position for walking into the town. Nice room plenty of space. Our host was very friendly and informative, he gave a few good tips of places to visit whilst we were in the region
No problem recommending. Nice to sit by the pool in the evening with a glass of wine.
Figerac is an interesting town and is well worth a visit

This was a very pleasant B&B. We sruggled a bit to find it, due to the lack of a sign. If you are searching, it is just past the big parking lot along the river and the sign by the gate says Les Pratjours, if I recall correctly - you have to look for the address. The proprietor is very friendly and gave good suggestions for the route to our next accomodation and places to stop along the way. He spoke excellent English. It is family-friendly in that it is right next to a park on the river and there is a pool. People with small kids may want to know that there are two dogs on teh premises, one small terrier and one elderly Labrador Retriever - neither caused any problems for our baby. Free map from the owner to help us on our way, as well as good restaurant recommendations, were both very helpful. I would stay here again.

Happy with our one night stay. A bit hard to find - the sign is rather discreet - but once here, all good. Beds comfy, nice big bath, hot towel rail, blow dryer etc. Right on the river, just a few minutes walk to town centre. Owner delightful. Breakfast really really nice and reasonably priced!!!! Highly recommended
